As a BOSS Computer Science Instructor, you will design and deliver instruction aligned with the Louisiana K-12 Student Standards for Computer Science, preparing students with essential computing, problem-solving, and digital literacy skills.<br /><br /><br /></p> <p>Knowledge of computing systems, networks, algorithms, programming, and cybersecurity; ability to design standards-aligned instruction; strong communication and classroom management; proficiency with educational technology.</p> <p>To support high‑quality CS instruction, candidates may also hold or be willing to obtain recognized technology and computer science certifications, such as:</p> <ul> <li>CompTIA ITF+, CompTIA A+, CompTIA Network+, or CompTIA Security+ (validates foundational computing, networking, and cybersecurity knowledge).</li> <li>Microsoft Certified Educator (MCE) or Microsoft Technology Associate (MTA) (where applicable).</li> <li>Google Educator Level 1 or 2 (for effective instructional technology integration).</li> <li>Apple Teacher Certification.</li> <li>STE Certified Educator (aligned to ISTE's professional standards).</li> <li>AWS Cloud Practitioner or Google Cloud Digital Leader (for cloud computing fundamentals).</li> <li>AI‑related micro‑credentials, such as AI literacy badges, ethical AI certifications, or educational AI integration programs from recognized technology‑education providers.</li> </ul> <br />Candidates should demonstrate a commitment to ongoing professional learning aligned with current CS and AI instructional practices, emerging technologies, and the evolving national K--12 CS landscape.<br />&nbsp;<br /> <ul> <li>Works and interacts with staff and relates to individuals at all levels of the organization; relates to individuals at all levels. Responsibilities: <ul> <li>You will develop and implement instructional plans aligned to Louisiana CS standards, delivering engaging curriculum that supports graduation requirements while assessing student progress and fostering a safe and inclusive learning environment.</li> <li>Your instruction will incorporate cybersecurity, digital citizenship, and AI literacy--helping students understand emerging concepts such as machine learning, data‑driven technologies, and the ethical use of artificial intelligence.</li> <li>You will integrate nationally recognized Computer Science standards, including the CSTA K--12 Computer Science Standards, which outline core learning objectives introducing fundamental computing principles, presenting rigorous secondary‑level CS content, and expanding access to high‑quality computer science education for all students.</li> <li>These standards emphasize computing systems, networks and the internet, data and analysis, algorithms and programming, and the impacts of computing.</li> <li>Instruction will also reflect ISTE‑aligned practices that promote digital citizenship, computational thinking, empowered technology use, and responsible engagement with intelligent digital tools, ensuring students develop the skills, habits, and critical thinking necessary to thrive as creative problem‑solvers in a technologically advanced world.</li> </ul>
