Overview: <p><strong>The opportunity</strong></p> <p>CPA Ontario is in search of an <strong>Infrastructure Systems Administrator</strong> who will operate with a user-focused view of our network and server system. Someone who can focus on and actively contribute to the improvement of our systems&rsquo; operation, reliability and performance. Reporting to the Infrastructure and Technology Services Manager and working out of our York Street location, the Infrastructure Systems Administrator is responsible for monitoring, troubleshooting, maintaining and capacity planning a scalable, technology-forward user environment and infrastructure.</p> <p><strong>Who you are</strong></p> <p>You have 5+ years as an Infrastructure Systems Administrator. You want to help drive cloud-focused projects and introduce new scalable technology environments. You want the chance to have your voice heard and to grow into an Infrastructure Architect role. Responsibilities: <p><strong>What you will do:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Maintain and upgrade IT systems and servers. You will establish and execute on performance management requirements. You will: <ul> <li>Plan, coordinate, install and update server patches and supporting tools.</li> <li>Monitor LAN/WAN network and servers to ensure availability and deliver recoverability according to service level agreements (SLA).</li> <li>Own the capacity planning and asset management of the infrastructure including LAN/WAN networks, storage, Windows server environment, VMWare and physical servers.</li> <li>Perform email system administration.</li> <li>Support automated methodologies for build activities in Infrastructure Operations.</li> </ul> </li> <li>Assist with security solutions. You will work closely with the IT Infrastructure and Security Architect to: <ul> <li>Install and maintain security solutions, data encryption and other security measures.</li> <li>Analyze infrastructure for security breaches and facilitate investigation when violations occur.</li> <li>Contribute to the Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity Planning including backups, failover, high availability infrastructure and hybrid public and private cloud.</li> </ul> </li> <li>Maintain PCI Compliance/Network security. You will analyze server event logs and network device logs and monitor IPS/IDS systems. You will work with the IT Manager to implement process improvements and compliance.</li> <li>Collaborate. You will nurture relationships with internal and external teams. You will: <ul> <li>Manage IT vendors.</li> <li>Work with the Project Managers and Infrastructure Coordinators on project progress, issues and solutions.</li> <li>Support the efforts for cross-training and collaboration with other members of the Infrastructure Operations team.</li> <li>Develop shared knowledge of leveraged tools on the Infrastructure Operations team, eliminating single points of knowledge and dependencies.</li> </ul> </li> </ul>
Requirements: <p><strong>So, how do we know you are the new Infrastructure Systems Administrator for us? You have:</strong></p> <ul> <li>The education. You have a Bachelor's degree, preferably in Computer Science, Engineering or Business. ITIL Certification is an asset but not required. Bonus points for CISCO or Microsoft certification.</li> <li>The experience. You have 5 or more years of in-depth training and experience developing network/server administration systems and support. You have the vision and planning skills of an Architect and the ability to plan support, upgrades and maintenance that meets the current and future needs of the company.</li> <li>The technical skills. You have hands-on expertise with: <ul> <li>Firewalls such as Palo Alto and Cisco.</li> <li>Cloud-systems including Azure.</li> <li>Microsoft 365.</li> </ul> </li> <li>The drive. You are self-motivated, detail oriented and a rapid decision-maker. You enjoy both finding the solution as well as the cause and preventing a recurrence. You take pride in not just doing your job, &nbsp;but going above and beyond what is required.</li> <li>The interpersonal capabilities. Your written and verbal communication skills are outstanding. You are comfortable speaking with individuals at any level, both technical and non-technical.</li> <li>The flexibility.
