Overview: <span style="font-size: 9pt;"><strong><span style="font-family: 'Verdana', sans-serif;">Support the Regional Credit Officer in loan approval and portfolio management, thereby ensuring adherence to bank lending processes, policies and regulations. Approve loans within assigned authority and participate with management in the prescreen process to quickly identify the relationships worthy of underwriting.&nbsp;&nbsp;This position will demonstrate strong credit, analytical, and written and verbal communication skills.&nbsp; The Credit Officer will be a self-starter with the ability to work independently with little oversight, reporting directly to the Regional Credit Officer.</span></strong></span>
Responsibilities: <ul> <li><span style="font-family: 'Verdana',sans-serif; font-size: 9pt;">Oversee, manage, and direct workflows and processes within the group as assigned by the Regional Credit Officer.</span></li> <li><span style="font-family: 'Verdana',sans-serif; font-size: 9pt;">Provide credit decisions on new and renewal credit opportunities within the group.</span></li> <li><span style="font-family: 'Verdana',sans-serif; font-size: 9pt;">Review write-ups prior to distribution. Work closely with and provide guidance to the credit team.</span></li> <li><span style="font-family: 'Verdana',sans-serif; font-size: 9pt;">Recognize and mitigate policy exceptions; report these for tracking purposes.</span></li> <li><span style="font-family: 'Verdana',sans-serif; font-size: 9pt;">Ensure that proper process and systems (underwriting and approval) are in place to efficiently decision credit while maintaining underwriting and credit quality standards.</span></li> <li><span style="font-family: 'Verdana',sans-serif; font-size: 9pt;">Responsible for approving annual reviews, loan extensions, loan modifications and 10% rule approvals. </span></li> <li><span style="font-family: 'Verdana',sans-serif; font-size: 9pt;">Participate in Regional Loan Committee (RLC) meetings and play an instrumental role in follow up with Commercial Relationship Managers and Group Managers.</span></li> <li><span style="font-family: 'Verdana',sans-serif; font-size: 9pt;">Serve as a resource to the Relationship Managers to update them on changes in policy and procedure.</span></li> <li><span style="font-family: 'Verdana',sans-serif; font-size: 9pt;">Attend Action Plan meetings and facilitate follow up on these credits.</span></li> <li><span style="font-family: 'Verdana',sans-serif; font-size: 9pt;">Serve as a resource to improve Loan Review results. </span></li> <li><span style="font-family: 'Verdana',sans-serif; font-size: 9pt;">Use reports to monitor current and past performance of loans and make adjustments to maintain an acceptable level of quality and credit risk. </span></li> <li><span style="font-family: 'Verdana',sans-serif; font-size: 9pt;">Remain alert to the existence and identification of non-performing loans and changing trends which may affect credit quality. Communicate material concerns to the Regional Credit Officer.</span></li> <li><span style="font-family: 'Verdana',sans-serif; font-size: 9pt;">Identify risks within each transaction and corresponding mitigation. Review and ensure risk rating model supports each transaction.</span></li> <li><span style="font-family: 'Verdana',sans-serif; font-size: 9pt;">Oversee credit underwriting process to ensure timely analysis, underwriting and credit decisions for new loans and timely renewal of existing loans. </span></li> <li><span style="font-family: 'Verdana',sans-serif; font-size: 9pt;">Accompany relationship managers on sales calls as necessary.</span></li> <li><span style="font-family: 'Verdana',sans-serif; font-size: 9pt;">Provide input on bank credit policy making decisions and Loan Committee agenda items. </span></li> </ul>
Requirements: <ul> <li><span style="font-size: 9.0pt; font-family: 'Verdana',sans-serif;">Bachelor&rsquo;s Degree in Business, Finance, or Accounting required, Master&rsquo;s Degree preferred.</span></li> <li><span style="font-size: 9.0pt; font-family: 'Verdana',sans-serif;">Five years of experience in the banking industry preferred. Other non-bank financing experience considered</span></li> <li><span style="font-size: 9.0pt; font-family: 'Verdana',sans-serif;">Five or more years of experience in a lending or credit and loan administration position.</span></li> <li><span style="font-size: 9.0pt; font-family: 'Verdana',sans-serif;">Proven management/leadership experience, preferably in the financial industry.</span></li> <li><span style="font-size: 9.0pt; font-family: 'Verdana',sans-serif;">Experience with risk analysis, credit analysis, and credit workout.</span></li> <li><span style="font-size: 9.0pt; font-family: 'Verdana',sans-serif;">Strong problem solving ability. </span></li> <li><span style="font-size: 9.0pt; font-family: 'Verdana',sans-serif;">Excellent written and verbal communication skills. </span></li> <li><span style="font-size: 9.0pt; font-family: 'Verdana',sans-serif;">Proficient with Microsoft Office applications.</span></li> <li><span style="font-size: 9.0pt; font-family: 'Verdana',sans-serif;">Professional in manner and appearance.</span></li> <li><span style="font-size: 9.0pt; font-family: 'Verdana',sans-serif;">Ability to create and explain reports to employees and management.</span></li> <li><span style="font-size: 9.0pt; font-family: 'Verdana',sans-serif;">Strong attention to detail.</span></li> <li><span style="font-size: 9.0pt; font-family: 'Verdana',sans-serif;">Self-motivated.</span></li> </ul>
