Overview: The Financial Advisor position is part of a full-service team responsible for developing a client portfolio to facilitate the sales and service of securities, annuities, registered investment advisory products, life insurance, and Trust products to qualified buyers within the Northern Metro Detroit area (Sterling Heights, Shelby Twp.), MI calling region.
Responsibilities: <p><strong>Customer Service</strong></p> <ul> <li>Utilize a consultative sales process and assessment tools where appropriate, provide comprehensive, needs-based financial solutions to clients by offering a range of investment solutions and partnering with banking center staff.</li> <li>Prepare materials and make presentations with prospective or existing clients.</li> <li>Analyze and evaluate customers' profiles to determine the needs of existing clients and prospective clients in order to effectively recommend products and services.</li> <li>Prepare and complete customer transactions that guarantee exceptional quality and necessary attention to detail in accordance with Cetera, regulatory, and program policies and guidelines.</li> <li>Contact clients within the assigned portfolio on a semi-annual basis regarding any necessary changes to the account.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Administration/Compliance Risk Management</strong></p> <ul> <li>Complete a client profile to identify present and future client needs. Prepare and send all mailings to current and prospective clients.</li> <li>Prepare all necessary paperwork on successful sales based on CFA guidelines.</li> <li>Make appropriate deposits into accounts, process paperwork, systemic investments, withdrawals, cancellations, and surrenders.</li> <li>Complete data entry and information retrieval using a broker-dealer website and various computer programs.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Business Development</strong></p> <ul> <li>Utilize the bank retail environment and other departments to facilitate new business opportunities.</li> <li>Network and prospect outside the financial institution to create new customer relationships and opportunities.</li> <li>Develop a complete understanding of CFA Investment Services solutions to support cross-selling opportunities, and learn the core bank products to generate referrals back to the Community Bank where appropriate.</li> <li>Attain sales production and referral goals by working the book of business, and closing on referrals.</li> <li>Financial Advisors are expected to achieve a minimum of fifteen (15) face to face meetings a week.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Community Involvement</strong></p> <ul> <li>Participate in Chemical Cares Day, and other volunteer events in the local community.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Other / Miscellaneous</strong></p> <ul> <li>Travel is needed to meet with clients on-site at various locations across assigned region.</li> </ul> <p><strong>CHEMICAL BANK SUCCESS PROFILE</strong></p> <p>All team members are expected to exhibit the following competencies associated with our Corporate Success Profile:</p> <ul> <li>Customer Dedication</li> <li>Community Immersion</li> <li>Relationship Building</li> <li>Team Player</li> <li>Creative Initiative</li> <li>High Standards</li> </ul> <p><strong>JOB SPECIFIC COMPETENCIES</strong></p> <p>Team members in this role should also exhibit the following competencies:</p> <ul> <li>Problem Solving / Decision Making</li> <li>Listening</li> <li>Change Mastery</li> <li>Active Communication</li> </ul>
Requirements: <ul> <li>High school diploma or equivalent required</li> <li>Associate's degree preferred</li> <li>3 - 5 Years Experience in Function</li> <li>5 - 7 Years Experience in Industry</li> <li>Life License Required</li> <li>Series 6/ 7, 63, 66 or 65 Required</li> <li>Demonstrated ability to sell products and services to investment clients; evidence of strong sales results. Experience with fee based/retirement plans required.</li> <li>FINRA Series 7, 63, 65 or 66 and state life and health insurance license.</li> <li>Knowledge of financial concepts, investment products, portfolio analysis, goal setting and cash flow; knowledge of the securities industry, financial planning and investment management.</li> <li>Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, Power Point).</li> <li>Ability to approach problems/decisions with sound judgment; must be a self-starter and a problem solver.</li> <li>Advanced listening, written and oral communication skills; strong persuasive and interpersonal skills.</li> </ul>
