Overview: <p>Manages and directs the project team with responsibility for scope, cost, schedule, staffing, internal and external communication, and financial cost objectives.&nbsp; Projects size can vary from $100K to $5MM.&nbsp; Leads complex projects and guides the work of subordinates.</p> <div id="gtx-trans" style="position: absolute; left: -22px; top: -20px;">&nbsp;</div>
Responsibilities: Essential Functions <ul> <li>Responsible for the planning and execution of projects from conception to installation. Engaged directly with cross-functional, global leaders to understand project concept, objectives, approach, and priorities for both internal teams as well as the customer.</li> <li>Manages change orders and negotiations, customer interfaces with Project Managers, and phase gate reviews to include margin verification/stop work.</li> <li>Responsible for organizing and managing the project team assuring the proper application of standard processes, tools, and methodologies, and utilization of the project coordinators.</li> <li>Provides project management controls, project plans, schedules and facilitates communication between team members to meet changing needs and requirements.</li> <li>Proactively manages change in project scope, identifies potential challenges, and develops proactive contingency plans.</li> <li>Provides reporting to management staff illustrating the progress of projects and associated barriers to success, including margin and cash forecasting. Understands techniques to identify and manage risk impact and exposure.</li> <li>Conducts post order reviews to determine appropriate corrective actions to improve processes; prepares timely progress reports and final project updates.</li> <li>Interfaces with the customer prior to order execution to support accurate, efficient flow of technical and commercial information within the Chromalox business processes including engineering, quality, and operations.</li> <li>Ensures project documents are complete, current, and stored appropriately, utilizing standard technology and documentation methodology.</li> <li>Understands the development of quoted and booked project margins with accountability for at a minimum meeting and where possible driving improvements in the margin.</li> <li>Understands cash collection plan associated with individual contracts and ensures timely execution thereof.</li> <li>Assesses project manager and project coordinator skill sets vs. ongoing needs of business and develops upgrade and training programs to ensure expected capabilities are in place.</li> <li>Some travel may be required.</li> </ul> <br /> <h4>Required Skills</h4> <ul> <li>Demonstrated management, analytical, organizational, interpersonal, project management, verbal and written communication, and presentation skills.</li> <li>Highly developed Microsoft Project skills and related (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, and SharePoint).</li> <li>Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals and customer specs.</li> <li>Attention to detail in follow through, establishing priorities and meeting deadlines.</li> </ul>
Requirements: <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree in Business or Engineering discipline with a minimum of 5 years relevant progressively responsible project management experience in a manufacturing environment.</li> <li>Project Management Certification (PMP) and JD Edwards systems and experience (preferred).</li> </ul>
