Overview: <p>Plan and coordinate business transactions involving importing from and exporting goods to foreign countries.&nbsp; Plan and coordinate business transactions for domestic shipments.</p> <div id="gtx-trans" style="position: absolute; left: -183px; top: -20.0139px;">&nbsp;</div>
Responsibilities: Essential Functions <ul> <li>Solicits bids for export/import shipments, prepares all required documents, shipping routes and schedules; negotiates pricing and service.</li> <li>Acts as intermediary between Chromalox UT, customer brokers, importers and U.S. Customs and Border Protection agents for negotiation, document review and distribution.</li> <li>Work with foreign buyers, federal agents, and company executives to coordinate boat, air, and other transportation methods.</li> <li>Solicit bids for all domestic shipments, prepares all required documents, shipping routes and schedules.</li> <li>Utilizes the most timely and cost-effective methods, arrangements for storage, pic-and-pack operations, consolidations or full-container movements, as well as inland transportation.</li> <li>Determines proper classifications of dutiable value and products subject to quotas.</li> <li>Completes shipment details such as licensing agreements, customs declarations, and packing and shipping.</li> <li>Maintains shipping document files.</li> <li>Provides customer service for status, routing, and schedules of shipments.</li> <li>Operates machines preparing products for shipment; use of label, FEDEX and UPS LTL shipment programs.</li> <li>Reviews packing lists to insure all required items are included, using foam, plastic, or other materials to pack containers.</li> <li>Performs routine preventative maintenance on machines as scheduled and required for TPM.</li> <li>Works individually and as a team to develop and implement quality and efficiency improvements.</li> <li>Conducts tests and inspections of processes to evaluate quality or performance; examines work to verify conformance to specifications.</li> </ul> Additional Responsibilities <ul> <li>May be required to cross train and demonstrate competency on all essential job functions of the department working at different work stations as production needs require.</li> <li>May Operates forklift to unload/move materials or products.</li> <li>Establishing and maintaining interpersonal relationships; training and teaching others.</li> <li>Maintenance of a clean and orderly work area free of excess materials.</li> <li>Support of and involvement in company, department, and/or safety policies, procedures, programs and activities.</li> </ul>
Requirements: Qualifications <ul> <li>High school diploma with two to three years related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience with Import/Export processes, and domestic shipping practices.</li> <li>Knowledge of import rules and regulations of foreign countries, methods of shipping, U.S. government export regulations, special packaging or handling restrictions, hazardous materials rules, and documents connected with foreign trade and experience with customs regulations and tariffs, international law and export-import regulations.</li> <li>Must have basic knowledge of a variety of computer software applications, in word processing, spreadsheets and databases. Customer logistics programs and software.</li> <li>Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, proportions and decimals. Ability and understanding of various measuring devices in meeting drawing dimensions and specifications.</li> <li>Ability to read and interpret documents such as blueprints, work orders, work instructions, diagrams, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Good verbal and written communication skills are necessary.</li> <li>Work requires continual attention to detail in follow through, establishing priorities and meeting deadlines.</li> </ul> Certifications / Training: No specific certifications required&nbsp;
