Full-Time/Regular

Overview: Conducts routine and non-routine analysis of raw materials, in-process, and finished product, using a variety of testing devices and procedures to maintain product quality.
Responsibilities: <ul> <li>Performs contract/customer specification review and transfers quality requirements into standard forms or work instructions for manufacturing use.</li> <li>Performs quality reviews of engineering designs and work orders to assure conformance to customer requirements, codes and standards.</li> <li>Generates ECR/CAR/PAR forms as required to correct or prevent nonconformance; investigates CAR/PAR issued to departments as assigned.</li> <li>Participates in MRB/SET teams to reduce scrap and defects.</li> <li>Prepares and submits quality assurance documentation packages in accordance with customer or standard requirements.</li> <li>Records test data and applies to statistical quality control procedures.</li> <li>Prepares graphs or charts of data or enters data into data base for analysis.</li> <li>Recommends revisions and updates for standard operating procedures and work instructions as needed.</li> <li>Performs periodic product or process audits per standard procedures.</li> <li>Works individually and as a team to develop and implement quality and efficiency improvements.</li> <li>Conducts tests and inspections of products, or processes to evaluate quality or performance; examines products or work to verify conformance to specifications.</li> </ul> Additional Responsibilities <ul> <li>May perform special projects on analytical and instrument problem solving including instrument and process validation; inspection or tests in support of department needs, failure analysis or product qualification.</li> <li>May perform specialty roles such as calibration, doc control, ASME, NDE, or government order specialist.</li> <li>May be required to cross train and demonstrate competency on all essential job functions of the department working at different work stations as production needs require.</li> <li>Establishing and maintaining interpersonal relationships; training and teaching others.</li> <li>Maintenance of a clean and orderly work area free of excess materials.</li> <li>Support of company, department, and/or safety policies, procedures, programs and activities.</li> </ul>
Requirements: <ul> <li>One year certificate from College or technical school; with one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience in a similar industry.</li> <li>Must have knowledge of a variety of computer software applications, in word processing, spreadsheets, database and presentation software including but not limited to Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.</li> <li>Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret technical instructions, add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, proportions and decimals. Ability and understanding of various measuring devices in meeting drawing dimensions and specifications.</li> <li>Ability to read and interpret documents such as blueprints, work orders, work instructions, diagrams, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Good verbal and written communication skills are necessary.</li> <li>Work requires continual attention to detail in following through, establishing priorities and meeting deadlines.</li> <li>Experience in welding disciplines and/or NDE/NDT methods and applications preferred.</li> </ul>
