Overview: <p>Under the supervision of the Design Engineering Manager, develops new designs, processes, and materials for customer orders. Responsible for the preparation of drawings, specifications, sequences, and other related engineering documentation.</p>
Responsibilities: <ul> <li>Conducts engineering studies on design for products, associated and subsystems components, and structures.</li> <li>Analyzes engineering proposals, process requirements, and related technical data pertaining to design.</li> <li>Applies engineering principles to design, modify, or develop facilities, testing, machines, equipment or processes.</li> <li>Conducts analytical studies on engineering proposals to develop design for products, equipment, machines, associated and subsystems components, and structures.</li> <li>Analyzes data to determine feasibility of product proposal; analyzes product or equipment specifications and performance requirements to determine designs that can be produced by existing manufacturing or processing facilities and methods.</li> <li>Analyzes engineering proposals, process requirements, and related technical data pertaining to industrial machinery and equipment design.</li> <li>May determine feasibility of designing new plant equipment or modifying existing facilities considering costs, available space, time limitations, company planning, and other technical and economic factors.</li> <li>Confers with research personnel to clarify or resolve problems and develops design, design modifications as required.</li> <li>Prepares or directs preparations of product or system layout and detailed drawings and schematics; coordinates manufacturing or building of prototype product or system.</li> <li>Plans and develops experimental test programs; prevents or eliminates defects in new or existing products, evaluates results.</li> <li>Analyzes test data and reports to determine if design meets functional and performance specifications.</li> <li>Studies engineering and technical publications to keep abreast of technological changes and developments in industry.</li> <li>Completes work &lsquo;on-time&rsquo; and within budget. Additional Responsibilities</li> <li>Support of and involvement in company, department, and/or safety policies, procedures, programs and activities.</li> <li>Establishing and maintaining interpersonal relationships; cross training.</li> </ul>
Requirements: <ul> <li>BS degree in Engineering or related technical field with 5 plus years related experience and/or training in a related field.</li> <li>Knowledge of PC software applications; SQL, Power Apps, and General Programming; AutoCad experience required, Solid Modeling and 3D Design preferred.</li> <li>ASME (Section VIII &amp; Section I), PED, ATEX, NEC, NACE, ANSI, and TEMA code experience and familiarity preferred. Systems specific pressure vessel, piping, pump, fluid transfer, heat transfer design experience. Familiar with manufacturing processes such as heavy equipment mfg., welding technology, control panel, materials technology, manufacturing methods technology.</li> <li>Ability to read, analyze, and interpret professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.</li> <li>Ability to work with mathematical concepts and apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.</li> <li>Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations</li> </ul>
