Overview: <div id="Jobs_JobDetail_JobDescriptionText"> <p>Under the supervision of the Continuous Improvement Manager, works with Design &amp; Manufacturing Engineers as well as Hourly associates and Operations leadership, to support customer orders and engineering projects, responsible for the preparation of manufacturing documentation.&nbsp;</p> </div>
Responsibilities: <div id="Jobs_JobDetail_JobRequiredSkillsText"> <h2>Required Skills</h2> <ul> <li>Ability to quickly learn the final assembly process to break it down to its components and tasks.</li> <li>Propose ideas for making the process more efficient</li> <li>Creates job instructions and job aids together with hourly operators, supervisors and engineers</li> <li>Creates shop floor packets before being released to manufacturing</li> <li>Reviews drawings for accuracy and make recommendations for design engineering changes.</li> <li>Reviews manufacturing routings in ERP (JD Edwards) system and make recommendations to update.</li> <li>Participates in generating manufacturing standards with operations and quality.</li> <li>Uses computer-assisted manufacturing &amp; engineering software and equipment.</li> <li>Analyzes data to determine feasibility of job aides, instructions and standards.</li> <li>Analyzes product or equipment specifications and performance requirements to determine if job instructions can be produced by existing manufacturing or processing facilities and methods.</li> <li>Confers with research personnel to clarify or resolve problems and develops design.</li> <li>Prevents or eliminates defects in new or existing products.</li> <li>Analyzes test data and reports to determine if job instructions meet functional and performance specifications.</li> <li>Make recommendations for Design for Manufacturability that allows the operator to be more efficient.</li> <li>Support of company, department, and/or safety policies, procedures, programs and activities.</li> <li>Maintenance of a clean and orderly work area.</li> <li>Ability to communicate with all levels of operations and engineering to collaborate with them to create the best job instructions to produce world-class products.</li> </ul> </div>
Requirements: <h2>Required Experience</h2> <ul> <li>Engineering or operations student with two plus years completed course work towards major</li> <li>Must have knowledge of a variety of computer software applications in word processing, spreadsheets, database and presentation software.&nbsp;</li> <li>Ability to read, analyze, and interpret engineering Blueprints, proposals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.&nbsp; Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.&nbsp; Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers and hourly associates.</li> <li>Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.</li> <li>Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.</li> </ul>
