Overview: <p>Job Summary</p> <p>Under limited supervision, plans and controls the flow of material through production, establishing sequence and lead time of each operation to meet completion dates according to sales forecasts and/or customer orders within financial cost objectives.&nbsp;</p>
Responsibilities: <br /> <p><strong>Essential Functions</strong></p> <ul> <li>Evaluates options for completion of open work orders, and independently determines the best options for timely completion, expediting and/or deferring as required.</li> <li>Establishes order policies to maximize efficiencies and minimize inventory investment to include lead times, lot sizes, period of supply, economic order quantities, safety stock and ordering rules.</li> <li>Examines production specifications and capacity data, and performs mathematical calculations to determine production processes, tools, and human resource requirements.</li> <li>Reviews daily MRP and Shop Floor Workbench to release orders for manufacturing to include level load scheduling and material availability.</li> <li>Coordinates activities involved with purchasing products, services and customer requests; analyzes and makes recommendations for make/buy decisions; responsible for outsourcing and outside processing as required with limited supplier instruction.</li> <li>Coordinates activities with Engineering on changes to existing product, as well as phase-in and phase-out of products to avoid obsolete and ensures availability of applicable components.</li> <li>Works with supervisors, managers and procurement to define, coordinate, and develop solutions for department or area specific requirements and problems.</li> <li>Meets with production team to review dispatch report and works to reduce barriers for on-time order completion; monitors on-time performance and past due root cause; responsible for coordinating materials with assigned production release.</li> <li>Manages WIP inventory and stock inventory levels in order to meet monthly reduction requirements.</li> <li>Maintains knowledge of leading principles with regard to capacity measurement and planning.</li> <li>Works individually and as a team to develop and maintain cooperative and productive relationships with employees at all levels.</li> <li>Work requires continual attention to detail in follow through, establishing priorities and meeting deadlines</li> </ul> <p><strong>Additional Responsibilities</strong></p> <ul> <li>Contributes to department/team goals based on productivity, in both quantity and quality of work and the accuracy to which the job and/or process is completed.</li> <li>Support of company, department, and/or safety policies, procedures, programs and activities.</li> <li>May assume additional related responsibilities as required.</li> <li>Maintenance of a clean and orderly work area.</li> </ul>
Requirements: <br /> <p><strong>Qualifications</strong></p> <ul> <li>Associate's degree from two-year College or technical school and two years related experience and/or training in production operations. APICS certification and experience with CIRM, CPIM or CPM preferred.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;</li> <li>Must have knowledge of a variety of computer software applications in word processing, spreadsheets and database software. MRP experience required; JDE systems experience preferred.</li> <li>Ability to read, analyze and interpret business documents, technical procedures or operating instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to write reports and business correspondence. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients and customers.</li> <li>Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure.</li> <li>Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.</li> </ul>
