Overview: <p>The Plant Controller is an integral part of the plant management team as well as a key member of the corporate Finance team. As such, this position requires direct involvement in both plant operations and corporate finance activities and initiatives as required. Duties include overall responsibility for accuracy and timeliness of financial and operational management information to be used in reporting financial results as well as managing the facility.</p> <p>Key activities include completing month end closing in accordance with corporate requirements, ensuring compliance with corporate requirements and preparing forecast and budgets in close partnership with the plant manager.&nbsp; The Plant Controller will oversee all local cost accounting and ensure completeness and accuracy.</p>
Responsibilities: <h2>Required Skills</h2> <ul> <li>Ensures completeness and accuracy of the plant financial statements and accounting activities.</li> <li>Monitor all activities and ensure compliance to all corporate standards.</li> <li>Provide financial support to plant manager and provide insights regarding local operations.</li> <li>Analyze location profitability and review operating metrics highlighting important trends.</li> <li>Reviews account reconciliations prepared by others.</li> <li>Assist in leadership of local physical inventory process and procedures.</li> <li>Performs various projects and analysis as required.</li> </ul> <ul> <li>Manages forecasting and budgeting activities for the plant and provide analysis of differences.</li> <li>Organize &amp; support efforts to reduce unfavorable variances and targeted cost reduction.</li> <li>Provide additional insight to operations on metrics such as scrap, cost of quality, labor, inventory fluctuations and obsolescence.</li> <li>Oversees cost accountant and participates in plant costing activities as needed.</li> <li>Responsible for completion of local payroll and payroll spend analysis.</li> <li>Reconcile all inventory and ensure accuracy of inventory records.</li> <li>Manage and obtain local approval for all requests on capital expenditures.</li> <li>Maintain local fixed assets tracking and tagging. &nbsp;&nbsp;</li> <li>Creates and maintains account reconciliations to ensure accuracy of financial statements.</li> </ul> <ul> <li>Assists in the yearly audit preparation and completion.</li> </ul>
Requirements: <h2>Required Experience</h2> <p><strong>Education:&nbsp;</strong></p> <ul> <li>BS in Accounting, Finance, or related field.</li> </ul> <p><strong>&nbsp;Experience:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Seven to ten years of progressive experience in finance and accounting.</li> <li>Previous experience as Plant Controller in a manufacturing environment required.</li> <li>Must be thoroughly familiar with manufacturing processes, and how BOMs &amp; routings, labor reporting, standard costing and overhead allocations are developed/analyzed.</li> <li>Significant, detailed experience with JDE business systems or other integrated business system.</li> <li>Experience with multi-site locations, including foreign operations.</li> </ul>
