Overview: <p>The City of Lansing is seeking a full-time Plant Assistant Superintendent who will serve at the Wastewater Superintendent's right-hand person. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience performing a wide range of personnel management functions. This is a great opportunity to work in one of the largest wastewater treatment plants in the State of Michigan. Responsibilities: <ul> <li>Serves as primary contact for all personnel related management functions</li> <li>Receives and responds to complaints by citizens and regulatory agencies</li> <li>Monitors division's operations and directs changes when necessary</li> <li>Reviews maintenance activities and sets priorities</li> <li>Conducts and supervises tests and projects related to wastewater plant operations</li> <li>Assists in the preparation of the annual budget, monitors budget expenditures</li> </ul>
Requirements: <ul> <li>A Michigan Class A Sewage Plant Operator Certification</li> <li>A Bachelor's degree with at least nine semester hour credits in General Chemistry, Biochemistry or Analytical Chemistry</li> <li>Four (4) years of acceptable operational experience in a Class B or higher treatment facility</li> <li>Two (2) years of supervisory and administrative experience</li> <li>Six (6) years of experience working in either an A or B Class Wastewater Plant.</li> <li>A valid driver's license</li> </ul>
