Overview: <p>To facilitate the distribution and maintenance of the golf carts and/or to monitor the flow of golf players to and on the golf course.</p>
Responsibilities: <p><strong>Essential Functions: </strong></p> <ul> <li>Assists personnel engaged in various trades relating to golf carts.</li> <li>Operates various hand tools and larger maintenance equipment used in the maintenance of golf carts.</li> <li>Assists public patrons of the golfing facilities.</li> <li>Maintains cleanliness and safe operating conditions of golf carts.</li> <li>Organize and controls the use of rented golf carts.</li> <li>Assists, organizes, and controls the physical flow of golf patrons from the parking lot to the golf course.</li> <li>The intent of this class description is to provide a representative summary of the types of duties and responsibilities that will be required of classifications given this title and shall not be construed as a declaration of the specific duties and responsibilities of any particular position.</li> <li>Incumbent may be required to perform job-related tasks other than those specifically presented in this job description.</li> </ul> <strong>Organization Status/Supervisory Responsibilities:</strong> <ul> <li>Under the direction of and responsible to the Department Head or designated representative.&nbsp; Usually none; however, may assign and direct the work of a small group of laborers assigned to a specific task.</li> </ul>
Requirements: <p><strong>Minimum Qualifications: </strong></p> <ul> <li>High School or GED.</li> <li>One (1) year experience in golf course operations, repair and/or light maintenance work on golf carts. Any equivalent combination of experience and training, which provides the knowledge, skill and ability, may be used in lieu of education requirements.</li> <li>Experience as a starter or in related work at a golf course is preferred.</li> <li>Possession of and ability to maintain a valid State of Florida Driver's License is required.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Job Based Competencies</strong>:</p> <ul> <li>Knowledge of standard tools, materials, methods and practices of the trade areas of operation and maintenance of golf carts.</li> <li>Ability to perform minor motor and electrical repairs of golf carts.</li> <li>Ability to perform manual labor for extended periods of time while lifting light, medium or heavy equipment or objects needed to perform duties as directed by supervisor.</li> <li>Knowledge of the occupational hazards and safety precautions of the duties required.</li> <li>Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees and the general public.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Public Contact: </strong></p> <ul> <li>Considerable public contact; acts in a public relations capacity for the golf course and the city.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Physical Requirements</strong>:</p> <ul> <li>This is heavy work requiring the exertion of 100 pounds of force occasionally and up to 50 pounds of force frequently. Position requires considerable physical activity including walking, lifting, reaching, stooping, standing, grasping, balancing, climbing, kneeling, and crouching. Incumbent is subject to inside and outside activities with no effective protection from weather conditions.</li> <li>Visual acuity is required to inspect and operate golf cart equipment. Position requires hearing sufficient to accurately perceive information at normal spoken word levels.</li> <li>Manual dexterity is required to operate equipment in the performance of duties.</li> </ul>
