Overview: To perform a variety of paid parking system functions focused on ensuring parking meter equipment is fully operational, perform preventative maintenance on parking meter systems, pay stations, and as directed, collect parking meter revenues. Services include maintenance, repair, and other related tasks to maintain the cleanliness of the equipment. <br /><br /><strong>Preferred candidates will possess 2 years of college or trade school with major course work in electronic or mechanical troubleshooting, repair, and experience with related software.&nbsp;</strong>
Responsibilities: <span style="text-decoration: underline;"><strong>Essential Functions</strong></span> <ul> <li>Performs preventative maintenance and trouble-shooting of revenue control equipment.</li> <li>Maintains all parking meters throughout the assigned area and repairs damaged or inoperable meters.</li> <li>Collects parking meter revenue and transports to department office for reconciliation.</li> <li>Maintains adequate controls for security and integrity of collection process, accounting, and reconciliation of all revenues while performing duties.</li> <li>Monitors and evaluates meter equipment efficiency and proactively communicates issues or problems.</li> <li>Proactively addresses issues requiring minor repairs.</li> <li>Performs all tasks necessary to maintain parking facility including pressure washing, graffiti removal, solid waste collection, minor painting and mechanical sweeping of the facility.</li> <li>The intent of this class description is to provide a representative summary of the types of duties and responsibilities that will be required of classifications given this title and shall not be construed as a declaration of the specific duties and responsibilities of any particular position.&nbsp; Incumbent may be required to perform job-related tasks other than those specifically presented in this job description.</li> </ul>
Requirements: <span style="text-decoration: underline;"><strong>Minimum Qualifications</strong></span> <ul> <li>High school diploma or GED.</li> <li>One (1) year of experience in the field of meter repair or other related electronic or mechanical trouble-shooting, maintenance, and repair industry including software programs.</li> <li>Possession of and ability to maintain a valid State of Florida Driver's License.&nbsp;</li> </ul> <p>&nbsp;</p> <span style="text-decoration: underline;"><strong>Job Based Competencies</strong></span> <ul> <li>Ability to work flexible shift schedules.</li> <li>Ability to be trained to operate and maintain cleaning equipment.</li> <li>Ability to be trained in the maintenance of the parking meter revenue equipment.</li> <li>Knowledge of Safety Data Sheets (SDS) system and procedures.</li> <li>Knowledge of safety requirements and practices.</li> <li>Skilled in maintenance, trouble-shooting and upkeep of assigned facilities and electronic and mechanized equipment.</li> <li>Ability to establish and maintain effective and appropriate working relationships with the general public, agencies, vendor representatives, and other employees.</li> <li>Ability to troubleshoot revenue control equipment and other equipment within the facility.</li> <li>Ability to exercise initiative and sound judgment and react with discretion under varying conditions.</li> <li>Ability to track information and make mathematical computations quickly and accurately.</li> <li>Ability to keep accurate records and prepare reports neatly and legibly.</li> <li>Knowledge of record-keeping procedures and practices.</li> <li>Ability to use parking software to run reports and monitor system performance and to identify potential problems in equipment or software.</li> </ul>
