Manager

Overview: Clayton and McKervey is currently seeking a Leader to establish and build a State and Local Tax (SALT) Practice within our firm.&nbsp; This opportunity will be focusing on consulting and planning as well as compliance.
Responsibilities: <ul> <li>Manage the delivery of a full range of state and local tax consulting services and advise companies on tax implications of their operations to develop a confident tax strategy</li> <li>Develop and lead a team responsible for ensuring quality control in state and local tax compliance for the firm&rsquo;s clients</li> <li>Manage state and local tax projects working with a variety of entities such as corporations, partnerships, estates and trusts.</li> <li>Lead and supervise state and local tax consulting engagements</li> <li>Work with the segment leaders of the firm to bring a holistic state and local tax planning approach to clients and prospects</li> <li>Help audit teams with review and analysis of state tax-related income and balance sheet items</li> <li>Build and manage client relationships</li> </ul>
Requirements: <ul> <li>JD or CPA certification</li> <li>Significant relevant experience in state and local tax</li> <li>Expert knowledge in state and local taxes, including sales &amp; use tax, income/franchise tax, local business privilege taxes, abandoned &amp; unclaimed property, among others</li> <li>Demonstrated ability to think strategically and execute, based on firm focus and future of the tax service line</li> <li>Working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite products, strong analytical knowledge in Excel</li> <li>Ability to demonstrate creative problem-solving skills and intellectually curious/motivated to develop professionally through continuous learning</li> <li>Excellent attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple projects within restricted timelines</li> </ul>
