Overview: Reporting to the Chief Information Officer, this position acts as the IT Department&rsquo;s internal resource to credit union departments for process analysis and development, project support, and general translation of business needs into technological solutions. This position will provide support with mapping out organization workflows, conducting technology research efforts and justification in support of projects, and assisting in projects that require IT support. The Business Process Specialist will ensure compliance with the credit union&rsquo;s Information Security and Business Continuity programs as these related to credit union processes. This position will develop and maintain effective and collaborative relationships and communication with credit union staff and vendors.
Responsibilities: Organization Workflow Design:<br /> Develops and implements a plan to prioritize and implement workflows and other process improvements.<br /> Coordinates discussions to design workflows to analyze process efficiency and quality.<br /> Conducts analysis to determine the root cause to recommend process enhancements or other appropriate actions to improve department productivity.<br /> Create workflow diagrams, configure and test workflows using the tools in CommonLink and other resources; maintains workflows to ensure accuracy of process and harmony with credit union policies and guidelines.<br /><br />Project Management:<br /> Provides support for strategic project management activities which require the bridging of business processes and technology.<br /> Provides system configuration and/or administrative support for departmental systems requiring &ldquo;separation of duties&rdquo; which preclude other departmental staff from performing such duties.<br /> Conducts research and formulates recommendations for the CIO on the selection and implementation of technology solutions that support credit union strategies and goals.<br /><br />Internal Department Activities:<br /> Updates and coordinates activities with the IT Team to ensure coverage of key tasks.<br /> Ensures project documentation is current and accessible.<br /> Provides department policy recommendation to Chief Information Officer.<br /> Assists in the preparation and implementation of an annual budget for the IT department that is consistent with the overall strategic plan and budgetary objectives of the credit union.<br /><br />Compliance:<br /> Ensures compliance with the following:<br />o Information/Cyber Security policies<br />o Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery plans<br />o Applicable federal regulations, including Bank Secrecy Act and OFAC.<br /> Notifies CIO upon recognition of potential violations of policies anywhere within the organization.
Requirements: Position Requirements:<br /> Bachelor&rsquo;s degree preferred.<br /> At least five years experience with financial institution business operations preferred. Requires excellent communication, analytical, facilitation and negotiation skills.<br /> Data Process analysis, knowledge of competition and industry.<br /> Experience managing successful technology-based projects desired.<br /> Experience managing relationships with system vendors and other third parties desired.<br /> Willingness to expand knowledge through personal reading, study, and research.<br /> Ability to manage adverse situations and make sound business decisions.<br /><br />Performance Expectations:<br /> Information is adequately shared and clearly communicated to other IT team members.<br /> Accurate reporting and appropriate tracking and measurement of department activity levels are maintained.<br /> Compliance with all applicable regulatory standards is maintained.<br /> Good communication and professional working relationships exist with all Credit Union departments, members, and vendors.
