Overview: <p>The Human Resources Specialist assists with the administration of the day-to-day operations of the Human Resources functions and duties. &nbsp;The HR Specialist has responsibilities in the areas of recruiting, payroll processing, benefits administration, performance management, employee engagement, employee relations, and records management.&nbsp; The HR Specialist is an effective communicator across all levels of the credit union and demonstrates strong problem-solving abilities.&nbsp; They act as a change agent with the ability to influence leaders through strategic thinking.</p>
Responsibilities: <p>RECRUITMENT:&nbsp; The HR Specialist coordinates job postings and applicant processing.&nbsp; This includes utilizing HireBridge to post open positions, contacting applicants for background screening and interview scheduling, conducting screening interviews, maintaining filing system for candidate records, conducting pre-employment reference checks, and report generation. Assists in the effective onboarding of new employees.</p> <p>&nbsp;BENEFITS ADMINISTRATION:&nbsp;&nbsp; Processes all enrollment and terminations; reconciles monthly insurance billing; ensures compliance with all plan notification requirements; discusses benefit plans with new hires and employees leaving the credit union, assists with open enrollment process, administers 401k changes and remittances.&nbsp; Assists in planning of open enrollment activities, benefit designs, and maintains collaborative working relationships with benefits providers.</p> <p>&nbsp;EMPLOYEE RELATIONS: Provides consistent guidance and advice to managers on HR-related matters including disciplinary and performance issues. An advocate for employees on a variety of matters. Addresses confidential issues professionally and in a timely manner. Conducts Stay Interviews and Exit Interviews.&nbsp; Provides clear and concise plans to address feedback from these sessions.</p> <p>&nbsp;EMPLOYEE ENGAGEMENT:&nbsp; Promotes a culture that is productive, open and empowering and coaches others to behave and make decisions aligned with the credit union&rsquo;s Core Values.&nbsp; Facilitates Employee Engagement Survey review sessions with leaders and employees.&nbsp; Provides input on the development of effective action plans that will drive improvements within the teams and across the credit union.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>PERFORMANCE MANAGEMENT: Monitors the timely completion of annual performance reviews, provides guidance to managers and employees in completing performance reviews in the PMP system creates internal documents for annual merit adjustments, calculates retro-payments and updates employees&rsquo; records in the PMP system.&nbsp; Maintains accurate information in the Compensation system.</p> <p>&nbsp;GENERAL ACTIVITIES: Responds to unemployment claims, coordinates Logo Wear program, administers employee recognition program, generates HR reports, creates reports for audits, maintains employee records, processes and administers FMLA requests, administers tuition assistance program, provides support to Board meeting activities.&nbsp; Updates HR-related information on intranet site and HRIS. Ensures compliance with all applicable federal regulations, including the Bank Secrecy Act, Security, NMLS registration and OFAC.&nbsp;</p> <p>ANNUAL REPORTING: Files EEO-1 report annually; maintains other records, reports, and logs to conform to EEO regulations.</p>
Requirements: <p><strong><em>Education &amp; Experience:</em></strong></p> <ul> <li>Bachelor&rsquo;s degree, preferred.</li> <li>Three to five years of HR Generalist experience handling benefits, payroll processing and recruitment. .</li> </ul> <p><strong><em>Knowledge:</em></strong></p> <ul> <li>Experience in Human Resources, including benefits, payroll, recruitment and employment laws, preferred.</li> </ul> <p>&nbsp;<strong><em>Skills and Abilities:</em></strong></p> <ul> <li>Proficient using ADP Workforce Now and other HR platforms.</li> <li>Strong organization skills and attention to details with demonstrated ability to work on competing priorities.</li> <li>Strong problem solver with the ability to offer solutions to complex and diverse HR issues.</li> <li>Ability to work independently and under pressure of deadlines.</li> <li>Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.</li> <li>Intermediate Excel skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.</li> </ul>
