Overview: Compass Health is looking for a Mental Health Technician III for our Triage Center in Whatcom County! <br /> <br />The Whatcom County Triage Center (WCTC) in Bellingham can accommodate individuals who are recovering from a mental health crisis. We provide crisis stabilization, walk-in emergency and next-day appointments. The mental health facility is co-located with a detox facility that is operated by Pioneer Services, to which individuals needing non-medical sobering support can be referred.<br /> <br />Compass Health Triage program utilizes a recovery model to assist those in behavioral health crisis to access services and supports and resume typical levels of functioning. Responsibilities: As part of a multi-disciplinary treatment team, the MHT III provides a combination of social, physical, and psychological services to strengthen and enhance the capability of psychiatrically impaired persons and enable these persons to function with greater independence. <br /> <ul> <li>Provides supervision of clients during the day, evening, or night shift.</li> <li>Provides independent living skills training to include social and self-care skills training.</li> <li>Participates in treatment team meetings to access, plan, implement, and evaluate client treatment.</li> <li>Develops and monitors individual treatment plans.</li> <li>Assesses, monitors, and documents client progress.</li> <li>Engages in active listening with individuals in the Triage Center.</li> <li>Participates in regularly scheduled supervision and team meetings.</li> <li>Remains compliant with required trainings and certifications.</li> <li>Behaves in an ethical and professional manner consistent with agency policy, state law, and licensing entities if applicable.</li> </ul>
Requirements: <ul> <li>BA/BS/BSW Degree in a Behavioral Science related field OR AA Degree and 2 years' related work experience OR any combination of education and experience totaling at least 4 years and demonstrates sufficient knowledge and skills.</li> <li>Individuals who do not already hold a license or associate license through the Washington State Department of Health must submit Agency Affiliated Counselor application upon hire and be approved by the DOH.</li> <li>Current First Aid &amp; CPR certification and Food Handlers permit, or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire.</li> <li>Valid Washington State Driver's License required including vehicle and appropriate insurance, if applicable.</li> </ul> <br /><strong>What you will be sharing</strong><br /> <ul> <li>Assists in monitoring vital signs and safety checks.</li> <li>Engages clients in group activities.</li> <li>Performs chart audits.</li> <li>Conducts follow-up phone calls to check on client progress after discharge.</li> <li>Cleans client rooms after discharge and assists in maintaining the cleanliness of the unit.</li> <li>Monitors meal times.</li> <li>Answers the phones and takes criteria from community partners.</li> <li>Assists with the intake process of clients on admit.</li> </ul> <br /><br /><br /><strong>ABOUT US</strong><br /><br /> Compass Health is the region&rsquo;s largest private, non-profit organization providing mental health and chemical dependency services in Island, San Juan, Skagit, Snohomish, and Whatcom counties of Western Washington.
