Overview: The Child Youth Family Crisis Team (CYFCT) Clinician I provides direct, supportive, and ongoing coordination of therapeutic services to assist clients with behavioral health disorders achieve the highest level of independence and stability possible in their community. Services delivered are recovery-focused and include but are not limited to case management, crisis invention &amp; treatment planning, resource identification and assistance, identification and development of natural supports, advocacy, service monitoring and follow-up, collaboration with natural supports and other providers, and individual and group services. The Clinician I is responsible for assessing client functioning and needs and partnering with the client to develop an individually tailored care plan designed to promote recovery. The Clinician I serves as a crisis team member and provides back up to other team members as needed.
Responsibilities: <ul> <li>Behaves in an ethical and professional manner consistent with agency policy, state law, and licensing entities if applicable.</li> <li>Complies with all accurate and appropriate charting, coding, and billing procedures as required by the regulatory organizations.</li> <li>Document&rsquo;s delivery of services in the medical record. Completes all paperwork to agency standard and within required timelines.</li> <li>Accepts primary responsibility for the brief inventions with crisis clients as identified</li> <li>Establishes a treatment plan and goals with client and evaluates progress throughout brief crisis inventions.</li> <li>Routinely assesses for risk issues including danger to self or others and develops plans with client to mitigate those risks.</li> <li>Provides a range of medically necessary clinical interventions, including but not limited to behavioral health counseling and case management services, to adults/older adults/youth. Whenever possible, treatment approaches employing Evidence-Based Practices will be used.</li> <li>Provides group patient education including planning, implementing, and facilitating groups for identified clients.</li> <li>Works collaboratively and coordinates with psychiatric services, emergency services, outpatient services, other treatment team members, etc.</li> <li>Coordinates services with community agencies (e.g., DSHS, DDD, Courts, etc.) and works in context of a crisis team as needed and appropriate.</li> <li>Makes appropriate referrals for auxiliary services such as drug and alcohol services when clinically indicated.</li> <li>Coordinates care with primary care and collaborating professionals from other systems as well as natural supports as appropriate.</li> <li>Participates in regularly scheduled supervision and team meetings.</li> <li>Remains compliant with required trainings and certifications.</li> <li>Understands and practices safekeeping of client protected health information per Compass Health&rsquo;s HIPAA and other agency policies and procedures.</li> <li>Demonstrates respect for diversity and a commitment to developing multicultural competency and sensitivity.</li> <li>Demonstrates commitment to Compass Health&rsquo;s Strategic Intention, core Values and Core Competencies.</li> </ul> <p><strong>PROGRAM SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES</strong></p> <ul> <li>Provides crisis intervention and prevention services to child, youth and family with sever and persistent behavioral health disorders with complex needs, diverse diagnoses and multi-system involvement.</li> <li>Links individuals with needed services including but not limited to ongoing behavioral health care, natural supports, community and educational resources.</li> <li>Provides outreach support to client(s) and crisis team members.</li> <li>Assists with collection and documentation of data to meet contract requirements.</li> </ul>
Requirements: <ul> <li>BA/BS/BSW Degree in a Behavioral Science related field required</li> <li>Child Mental Health Specialist (CMHS) preferred</li> <li>Experience working with children, youth and/or families required</li> <li>Demonstrated knowledge and experience with the Evidence-Based Practices, or interest and ability to learn.</li> <li>Individuals who do not already hold a license or associate license through the Washington State Department of Health must submit Agency Affiliated Counselor application upon hire and be approved by the DOH.</li> <li>Valid Washington State Driver&rsquo;s License including vehicle and appropriate insurance. Able to transport self to multiple community locations to deliver services, often over the course of a single day.</li> </ul> <p><strong>KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS / ABILITIES</strong></p> <ul> <li>Ability to work effectively with individuals with complex needs, diverse backgrounds, and multi-system involvement.</li> <li>Ability to maintain a positive, solution-focused demeanor when responding to conflicts or problems.</li> <li>Demonstrated organizational skills and the ability to multitask within a fast-paced environment.</li> <li>Excellent communication skills, written and verbal.</li> <li>General computer proficiency, including the ability to utilize electronic medical record systems.</li> <li>Ability to pass pre-employment criminal background check, which may or may not include an additional search by DSHS.</li> </ul> <p><strong>PHYSICAL DEMANDS / WORK ENVIRONMENT</strong></p> <p>The employee will be working primarily out of the office and will provide outreach to community settings as needed, which could include client homes, hospitals, medical facilities, schools, jails, community organizations, etc. While performing the duties of this job, the employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds and is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, talk, and use close vision.
