Overview: Compass Health is currently looking for a Registered Nurse for our E&amp;T Facility in Mukilteo. Compass Health&rsquo;s Evaluation and Treatment facility provides a 16-bed inpatient program in Mukilteo to mentally ill adults under 72-hour involuntary detention and/or 14-day commitment in accordance with Washington State Involuntary Treatment Act, RCW 71.05.<br /> <br />Evaluation begins upon admission to obtain baseline information and to assess physical status, perform psychological evaluation and mental status examination and determine global functioning. The data is continually updated in an individualized treatment plan to provide the highest quality of care possible in a dynamic situation. Responsibilities: As a member of the multi-disciplinary team, the RN provides direct nursing services to clients and oversees provision of treatment by program staff to ensure high quality client care. The RN is responsible for providing directions to program staff.<br /> <ul> <li>Provides screening to assess criteria for admission to the facility has been met.</li> <li>Ensures an organized and systematic method of monitoring individual client&rsquo;s health status and needs.</li> <li>Facilitates appropriate admissions to the facility.</li> <li>Completes admission information and nursing assessment.</li> <li>Manages the milieu.</li> <li>Ensure clinical standards are met by clinical staff.</li> <li>Administers medication in accordance with orders from prescribers.</li> <li>Manages the medication delivery system, administers and documents medication treatment.</li> <li>Communicates and coordinates services with other medical providers.</li> <li>Transcribes medication orders written by a prescriber, as needed.</li> <li>Audits medication orders daily, and completes other audits as assigned.</li> <li>Helps to develop standards of care.</li> <li>Provides training to program staff to help them monitor psychiatric symptoms and medication side effects.</li> <li>Engages in health promotion, prevention, and educational activities.</li> <li>Assists clients with the development of strategies to maximize medication adherence.</li> <li>Trains other program staff as appropriate.</li> <li>Participate in regularly scheduled supervision and team meetings.</li> <li>Behave in an ethical and professional manner consistent with agency policy, state law, and licensing entities if applicable.</li> <li>Remains compliant with the required trainings and certifications. Requirements: <ul> <li>Current Washington State RN license.</li> <li>Previous experience working in a psychiatric setting preferred.</li> <li>Current First Aid &amp; CPR certification and Food Handlers permit, or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire.</li> </ul> <br /><strong>What you will be sharing</strong><br /> <ul> <li>Thorough knowledge of clinical issues of psychiatric and medical treatment of adults and older adults.</li> <li>Demonstrated knowledge regarding the management of challenging behaviors.</li> <li>Skilled in administering medications.</li> <li>Demonstrated organizational skills and the ability to multitask within a fast-paced environment.</li> <li>Ability to maintain a positive, solution-focused demeanor when responding to conflicts or problems.</li> <li>Excellent communication skills, written and verbal.</li> <li>General computer proficiency, including the ability to utilize electronic medical record systems.</li> <li>Ability to pass pre-employment criminal background check, which may or may not include an additional search by DSHS.</li> </ul> <br /><br /><strong>PHYSICAL DEMANDS / WORK ENVIRONMENT</strong><br /> <br />The employee will be working in an acute care facility and must be able to physically participate in managing aggressive behavior from patients. While performing the duties of this job, the employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds and is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, talk, and use close vision.
