Overview: <h3>About the Role</h3> <p>Compass Health is currently seeking a&nbsp;<strong>Mental Health Counselor / Clinician II</strong>&nbsp;to join our&nbsp;<strong>Child &amp; Family program in Island County</strong>. This position provides behavioral health counseling and clinically indicated case management services to children, youth, and their families, helping them build coping skills, foster resilience, and promote recovery.</p> <p>This role involves working both in the&nbsp;<strong>clinic</strong>&nbsp;and in&nbsp;<strong>local schools</strong>, supporting children and families where and when they need us most.</p> <h3>About the Oak Harbor Child &amp; Family Program</h3> <p>Our team offers a broad array of services to families dealing with emotional or behavioral challenges, including individual, family, and group therapy. Responsibilities: <ul> <li> <p>Provide individual and family behavioral health counseling using&nbsp;<strong>evidence-based interventions</strong>.</p> </li> <li> <p>Work closely with local schools, attending meetings and supporting educational stability through behavioral modification strategies and plan reviews (IEPs, 504s, IBSPs).</p> </li> <li> <p>Develop individualized treatment plans in partnership with clients and families.</p> </li> <li> <p>Routinely assess for risk issues and develop appropriate safety planning.</p> </li> <li> <p>Coordinate services with psychiatric care, community agencies, and other systems of care.</p> </li> </ul>
Requirements: <ul> <li> <p><strong>MA/MS/MSW</strong>&nbsp;in Behavioral Science-related field.</p> </li> <li> <p><strong>Mental Health Professional (MHP)</strong>&nbsp;qualification preferred (per WAC definition).</p> </li> <li> <p>Meets educational requirements for&nbsp;<strong>Child Mental Health Specialist</strong>&nbsp;designation (preferred).</p> </li> <li> <p>Familiarity with&nbsp;<strong>Evidence-Based Practices</strong>, or willingness to learn.</p> </li> <li> <p>Agency Affiliated Counselor registration (if not currently licensed) required upon hire.</p> </li> <li> <p>Ability to pass pre-employment background check.</p> </li> </ul>
