Overview: <p>School Based Mental Health Therapist &ndash; Marysville, Smokey Point&nbsp;</p> <p>Compass Health is currently looking for a School Based Mental Health Therapist.&nbsp;&nbsp;</p> <p>The School Based Mental Health Therapist provides behavioral health counseling and clinically indicated case management services for Children and/or Families with behavioral health conditions. Responsibilities: <ul> <li>Provides individual behavioral health counseling and other medically necessary behavioral health services to children and or families. Whenever possible, treatment approaches employing Evidence-Based Practices will be used.</li> <li>Works with clients referred from local school districts to provide a range of therapeutic services including 1:1 counseling, family therapy and referral for more intensive services.</li> <li>Reviews behavioral modification strategies with school staff to ensure that clients maintain educational stability.</li> <li>Reviews Individualized Behavioral Support Plans (IBSP), 504 Plans, Individualized Education Plans (IEP), and Crisis Plans with School Staff and Client as needed.</li> <li>May be required to attend meetings at schools for continuity of care for client as needed.</li> <li>Monitors compliance with court orders as needed: delivers services as stated in the order, seeks extensions when indicated, and completes all required documentation.</li> <li>Works collaboratively and coordinates with psychiatric services, emergency services, other treatment team members, etc. </li> <li>Coordinates services with school communities and school personnel as needed and works in context of a treatment team as needed and appropriate.</li> <li>Establishes a treatment plan and goals with client and evaluates progress throughout treatment.</li> <li>Routinely assesses for risk issues including danger to self and others and develops plans with client and/or families to mitigate those risks.</li> </ul>
Requirements: <ul> <li>MA, MS, MSW Degree in a Behavioral Science related field.</li> <li>Qualifies as a Mental Health Professional (MHP) as defined by WAC preferred.</li> <li>Meets educational and training requirements for designation as a Child Mental Health Specialist preferred.</li> <li>Demonstrated knowledge and experience with Evidence-Based Practices, or interest and ability to learn.</li> <li>Individuals who do not already hold a license or associate license through the Washington State Department of Health must submit Agency Affiliated Counselor application upon hire and be approved by the DOH.</li> <li>Ability to pass pre-employment criminal background check.</li> </ul> <br /><br /> <p><strong>About Compass Health</strong></p> <p>Compass Health is Northwest Washington&rsquo;s behavioral healthcare leader, serving Island, San Juan, Skagit, Snohomish, and Whatcom counties for over 110 years.
