This role offers the chance to turn your personal or family experience with behavioral health into a source of strength, guidance, and healing for others navigating a crisis.</p> <h4><strong>About the Role</strong></h4> <p>As a&nbsp;<strong>Family Support Partner/Peer Counselor</strong>, you&rsquo;ll provide emotional support, mentorship, and connection to families and youth experiencing behavioral health challenges. Working closely with the clinical team and under the supervision of the Program Manager, you will help clients and caregivers develop natural supports, enhance self-advocacy, and build essential life and community skills.</p> <h4><strong>Who You&rsquo;ll Work With</strong></h4> <p>The&nbsp;<strong>CYFCT team</strong>&nbsp;is a community-based crisis outreach unit providing&nbsp;<strong>mobile, short-term intervention and prevention services</strong>&nbsp;for children, adolescents, and their caregivers. Responsibilities: <ul> <li>Offer&nbsp;<strong>peer-based support and encouragement</strong>&nbsp;to youth and families facing mental health or substance use crises.</li> <li>Act as a&nbsp;<strong>mentor and advocate</strong>, modeling hope, empowerment, and recovery.</li> <li>Assist clients in developing and accessing natural supports, peer support groups, and essential resources.</li> <li>Provide&nbsp;<strong>compassionate support</strong>&nbsp;to family members, friends, and other caregivers.</li> <li>Collaborate with team members to monitor progress, inform treatment goals, and ensure the client&rsquo;s voice is central to care decisions.</li> <li>Participate in team meetings, documentation, and training activities.</li> </ul>
Requirements: <ul> <li><strong><span class="modified">Current WA Certified Peer Support Specialist or CPSS-T certification</span>.</strong></li> <li><strong>Lived experience&nbsp;</strong>with behavioral health or substance use recovery (required).</li> <li>Experience as a&nbsp;<strong>caregiver to a child with special needs</strong>&nbsp;who has received community services (required).</li> <li>Experience working as a peer counselor or in a related support role (preferred).</li> <li>Ability to obtain&nbsp;<strong>Agency Affiliated Counselor status&nbsp;</strong>through WA State DOH upon hire (if not already credentialed).</li> <li><span class="modified">Must be at least 21 years of age and possess a v</span>alid WA State Driver&rsquo;s License,<span class="modified"> reliable</span> vehicle, and insurance.</li> <li>Empathy, reliability, and strong communication skills.</li> </ul> <br /> <h4><strong>Why Join Compass Health?</strong></h4> <p>As Western Washington&rsquo;s largest private, non-profit behavioral healthcare provider, Compass Health has been supporting individuals and families for over&nbsp;<strong>110 years</strong>.
