Companies must be responsive and compliant -- whether it is to the risks of the latest national security threats, effects of new trade tariffs enacted on foreign trading partners, or restrictions placed on people, businesses, and products by the U.S. Government.</p> <p>PC Connection, Inc. has an immediate opportunity in the Trade Compliance Department for an entry-level position at our Wilmington, OH Technology Integration and Distribution Center (TIDC). The position offers great company benefits and opportunities for advancement.</p> <p>The Trade Compliance Specialist, working under the direct supervision of the department Supervisor, processes export orders for all corporate business segments -- Business Solutions, Public Sector Solutions, and Enterprise Solutions.</p>
Responsibilities: <ul> <li>Export order processing involves entering export order information into transportation software to create international shipping labels and commercial invoices within published deadlines.</li> <li>It also requires collecting shipment information to file various trade documents such as Electronic Export Information (formerly SED) or claiming Foreign Trade Regulation Exemptions.</li> <li>The Trade Compliance Specialist also performs screening activities against various denied party lists and reviews technology products for vendor and regulatory restrictions.</li> <li>The successful applicant must show strong organizational and communication skills to process and resolve export order issues daily, with a significant emphasis on accuracy.</li> <li>Experience with different modes of transportation (land, air, sea), freight billing terminology (prepaid, collect, third party) and building relationships with third-party logistics and sales partners is essential.</li> <li>After successfully performing these initial responsibilities, the Trade Compliance Specialist can gain more experience on advanced responsibilities in this role and other roles within the Department.</li> </ul> <p>Shift: Monday-Friday, 9 AM -- 5:30 PM, Overtime as needed</p>
Requirements: <p><strong><u>Education &amp; Experience:</u></strong></p> <ul> <li>Degree Requirements: Associate Degree (2-year) or the equivalent combination of education and work experience. Trade certifications or other formal training also considered.</li> <li>Minimum years of career experience to qualify for this role: 3</li> <li>Total years of career experience to be fully proficient: 5</li> </ul> <p><strong><u>Skills, Knowledge and Abilities</u></strong></p> <ul> <li>Basic ability in the use of Microsoft Office Suite of products</li> <li>Basic Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system knowledge such as Oracle's JD Edwards or similar platforms</li> <li>Effective communication and organization skills</li> <li>Strong problem-solving and analytical skills</li> <li>Meticulous and have strong ability to detect and resolve problems</li> </ul>
