Overview: <br />Working under direct supervision of the Alliance Manager, Product Line Manager or Manager, Senior Product with a dotted line to the Product or Program Manager for daily assignments, the Partner Development Specialist (PDS) selects from a variety of established procedures to accomplish assigned duties and responsibilities. <br /><br />The PDS acts as the subject matter expert resource for Account Managers on pre-sales questions related to the partner and/or product line and provides guidance and/or suggestions to the Account Managers on Partner resources, pricing programs, cross-sell and up-sell opportunities, advanced services, assessment opportunities, and any other pre-sales inquiries for the Partner's portfolio.
Responsibilities: <br /> <ul> <li>Assure appropriate vendor programs are implemented with the appropriate internal teams as the business needs dictate</li> <li>Be an advocate for the manufacturer, ensuring their messages and programs are adequately communicated and adopted by salesforce</li> <li>Answer presales technical questions and provide the necessary support to help close sales when applicable as the business needs dictate</li> <li>Educate account managers on the manufacturer's solution and available resources to enable them to be as self-sufficient as possible</li> <li>Prospect into untapped manufacturer field sales organizations to open new streams of sales and leads</li> <li>Review quotes and identifies potential add-on opportunities</li> <li>Identify tools and resources for increasing AM productivity</li> <li>Obtain relevant industry certifications and attend approved outside training</li> <li>Develop sales tools to assist account managers in providing solutions to their customers</li> <li>Assist in training of account managers to increase awareness of and familiarity with manufacturer solution</li> <li>Promotes, tracks, drives, and coordinates lead campaigns and call campaigns</li> <li>Helps execute special pricing programs and requests</li> <li>Work cross-functionally with other departments at Connection to further relationships and programs</li> <li>Stay updated on market trends</li> <li>Provide reporting as necessary</li> </ul>
Requirements: <br /> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree in a business or technical field (Preferred)</li> <li>2+ years marketing or sales experience in the related technology field (Preferred)</li> <li>Strong quantitative and analytical skills</li> <li>Demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills including strong negotiating and selling skills</li> <li>Outstanding attention to detail, organizational and project management skills</li> <li>Proven team player who can work collaboratively and interface with all levels of the organization</li> <li>Self-directed requires minimal supervision</li> <li>Proficient use of relevant business systems (Microsoft Office, Business Objects, etc.)</li> </ul>
