Overview: <br />The Sr Systems Admin provides support and administration for the following technologies and services: Public Cloud platforms (Microsoft Azure) and supporting technologies, Hyper-converged infrastructure (Nutanix), virtualization platforms (Vmware), and Unix and Linux operating environments.&nbsp;
Responsibilities: <br />The Senior Systems Administrator provides technical expertise in defining, implementing, and supporting the hybrid cloud strategy while working collaboratively with technical team members in supporting all aspects of the LAMP ecosystem. Sr Systems Admin ensures effective user support, system performance, change control, data security, data integrity, and daily maintenance and administration to the platforms that support the enterprise hybrid cloud. Manages projects as assigned and is a resource for other IT projects.
Requirements: <br /> <ul> <li>Bachelor's Degree (preferably in IT, Computer Science or related field) or the equivalent combination of education and work experience, along with 8 years work experience.</li> <li>Administration of Linux operating systems (Redhat Enterprise Linux, CentOS, Amazon Linux)</li> <li>Operating experience with the Nutanix suite of hyper-converged solutions</li> <li>Knowledge of virtualization platforms and associated deployment models</li> <li>Administration of virtualization utilizing dynamic resource allocation and mobility</li> <li>Understanding of hybrid and public cloud deployment technologies and modern cloud hosting concepts (infrastructure as code, CI/CD pipeline, containerization and orchestration, Blue/Green deployments, and load balancing mechanisms).</li> <li>Experience with replication and migration approaches for on-premise to cloud transitions</li> <li>Proficient in the following concepts and technologies: High Availability, Disaster Recovery, Replication, Backup, Restore and Recovery, as well as System Security</li> <li>Familiarity with cloud billing, account management, and pricing models<br />Exposure to DevOps principles and practices</li> <li>Public cloud certifications in any or all of the following categories are beneficial; Compute, Storage, Migration, and Management Tools.</li> <li>Project management skills with ability to author and manage projects from inception to completion</li> <li>Technology and business aptitude with the ability to comprehend and deploy new or existing technologies in order to meet internal business initiatives</li> <li>Proven experience managing the build and deployment of applications in a containerized environment across hybrid clouds</li> <li>Leveraged internal and external remote git repositories in conjunction with CI/CD workflow/pipeline tools such as Jenkins and Ansible to build, push and pull Docker containers and application packages to and from cloud/web registry services such as Artifactory.</li> <li>Proven experience managing and maintaining containerized microservices infrastructures based on Kubernetes and Docker and their requisite SSL/TLS certificates for secure communications.</li> </ul>
