Overview: <br />The Business Development Manager, Named Accounts for SLED focuses on developing business relationships with assigned customer accounts and vendors which lead to new sales opportunities.
Responsibilities: <br /><br />Collaborates with Sales leadership and Account Managers on named account focus and strategic initiatives. Acts as a mentor to other BDMs and fills in for Sales Manager as needed. Leads efforts to identify contract vehicles, works with major and emerging manufacturers, represents Connection at events and/or shows, and helps coordinate responses to major bids.
Requirements: <br /> <ul> <li>Bachelor's Degree or the equivalent combination of education and work experience, along with a minimum of 4 years career experience</li> <li>Technical aptitude with ability to absorb and apply newly learned technical skills</li> <li>Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite with ability to create a document or simple spreadsheet.</li> <li>Negotiation skills with ability to secure best purchasing agreement for customers and company</li> <li>Strong understanding of and working knowledge of the value-added technology industry</li> <li>Customer-oriented with ability to listen to and anticipate needs of the customer</li> <li>Excellent written communication skills with ability to compose professional business communications via email, letters, and proposals.</li> <li>Excellent verbal communication skills with ability to present professional demonstrations</li> <li>Articulate with ability to express oneself clearly and professionally in written and oral communication</li> <li>Good listening skills with ability to receive information completely and understand what is being said</li> <li>Quick study with ability to master a situation or learn new things with minimum direction or training</li> <li>Perceptive with ability to understand the needs and values of others</li> <li>Organized state of mind with ability to document activities, anticipate problems, plan schedules and monitor performance according to priorities and deadlines</li> </ul>
