Overview: A Business Development Manager (BDM) for Connection - Public Sector Solutions (formerly known as GovConnection) works independently to seek out new business opportunities with new or existing customers in the Oregon area.
Responsibilities: <p>They are responsible for strategizing with inside sales account managers to communicate the Connection value proposition to customers in State and Local Governments and Education (K-12 and Higher Education) with ability to present at the Manager/Director level.</p> <p>Via training or previous work experience, the BDM will gain familiarity with available contract vehicles, and have the ability to present customized web solutions and develop and maintain local manufacturer relationships. This is an outside sales role that requires daily travel mostly by automobile with occasional overnights, airline travel needed on occasion.</p>
Requirements: <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree or higher, with a business-related discipline is preferred, and six plus years of IT sales experience with an emphasis on developing and maintaining customer accounts.</li> <li>Demonstrated history of exceeding sales goals.</li> <li>Sound business development and account maturation skills.</li> <li>Advanced technical knowledge with ability to present at the C-Suite level</li> <li>Action oriented, with strong executional skills.</li> <li>High degree of professionalism.</li> <li>Works well independently, as well as in a team.</li> <li>Strong interpersonal skills with capability to mentor junior members of the team.</li> <li>Strategic thinker with ability to fill in for Sales Manager as needed and to provide sales analysis.</li> <li>Leadership experience, especially in a sales role, is highly desired.</li> <li>Individual in this outside sales position will work remotely from home, with up to 50% travel time to client sites.</li> </ul>
