Full Time

Overview: The Sr. Systems Engineer is responsible for a combination of field deployable engineering activities, pre-sales configuration and consulting activities, skills and certification maintenance, and engineering research and technology development tasks. This Engineer is primarily responsible to maintain a high level of billable utilization. The Engineer will also be focused on deploying, installing, configuring, troubleshooting, and documentation.
Responsibilities: The Engineer is focused mainly on servers, storage, and virtualization technology, but must also possess and maintain competency in certain adjacent technologies such as networking, operating systems, and business applications. He/she will also maintain a high level of competency and certification in relevant product and technology sets.
Requirements: <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems or similar preferred</li> <li>Knowledge and experience performing migrations of applications to the public cloud (preferred AWS)</li> <li>Minimum of seven years as a systems engineer or consultant in a datacenter environment</li> <li>Proficient level of post-sales installation, configuration, troubleshooting with guidance from senior technical staff</li> <li>Proficient level knowledge of the fundamental concepts, practices and procedures of particular field of specialization with ability to apply concepts. (Software/Applications, Server, Storage, Networks, Security, Mobility)</li> <li>Working knowledge of business systems and outcomes with ability to understand impact of solution design and implementation on customer's business strategic objectives and requirements</li> <li>Excellent verbal communication skills with ability to translate technology-related jargon to diverse groups of technical and non- technical users</li> <li>Excellent written communication skills with ability to develop technical documents</li> <li>Demonstrates a drive for achievement, adaptability/flexibility, dependability, persistence, and tolerance of stressful situations</li> <li>Self-motivated with ability to perform quality work within deadlines and budget with or without direct supervision</li> <li>Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving, appropriate judgment, and decision making skills</li> <li>Requires minimum of one of the following discipline certification: Servers, Storage, Networking, Software, Mobility, Security or AWS</li> <li>Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite with ability to create a document or simple spreadsheet</li> <li>Proficient level in SharePoint technology</li> <li>Proficient level in development of Product Bill of Materials and basic system designs</li> <li>This is a remote position with up to 50% travel to client sites in the US only</li> </ul>
