Overview: <br /> Provides interpersonal, technical and manual nursing care, within the scope of practice as outlined by the California Board of Nursing under the direction of a licensed physician or Registered Nurse.<br />
Responsibilities: <br /> <ul> <li>Performs basic health and psychosocial assessments.</li> <li>Provides input to and implements medical care plans as ordered.</li> <li>Performs nursing tasks, procedures, and interventions authorized by a valid physician&rsquo;s order.</li> <li>Collects and processes specimens for testing per physician orders.</li> <li>Collects, documents and reports patient data, care and treatment, and health status in a timely and accurate manner.</li> <li>Receives physician orders and administers all medications and treatments within scope of practice and agency procedure.</li> <li>Maintains safe, hygienic environment within medical facilities.</li> <li>Provides patient education.</li> <li>Safely and properly uses all medical equipment.</li> <li>Ensure patients fulfill all outside medical appointments, transporting as necessary.</li> </ul>
Requirements: <br /> <ul> <li>Must possess and maintain valid California Vocational Nurse License.</li> <li>BLS/CPR for Healthcare Providers and Certificate of Blood Withdrawal from a California BVNPT - approved provider within sixty days of hire.</li> </ul> <br /><strong>Additional Requirements:</strong><br /> <ul> <li>Must possess and maintain a valid, unrestricted California driver&rsquo;s license and current vehicle insurance.</li> <li>Bi-lingual proficiency in Spanish is required for Shelter Care campus; strongly preferred and additionally compensated on Residential Treatment Campus.</li> </ul>
