Overview: <p>The General Laborer will be responsible for performing a variety of tasks in the mine site operating tools and equipment. The General Laborer is a full-time, seasonal position that requires travel with overtime through peak season, reports to the Foreman, and has no supervisory responsibility. Take ownership of your role by keeping the equipment and job site clean, completing inspections on equipment, maintaining equipment in a pro-active manner and most importantly, ensuring safety is priority number one regardless of production goals. Responsibilities: <ul> <li>Perform a variety of tasks on the mine site.</li> <li>Operate tools and equipment as needed.</li> <li>Welding/fabricating.</li> <li>Set up and Tear down portable plants.</li> <li>Complete pre- and post-shift inspections and assist with maintenance or repair of equipment in a pro-active manner.</li> <li>Assist in the field (i.e., moving equipment, shoveling, cleaning sites, and other miscellaneous jobs as needed).</li> <li>Ability to operate a skid steer.</li> <li>Keep the crusher and other associated areas clean and organized.</li> <li>Operate crusher machinery by operating a computerized control panel.</li> <li>Works inside the enclosed booth to oversee and look down upon the machinery and crushing process.</li> <li>Troubleshoot and communicate problems with the ground crew.</li> <li>Assist with machine maintenance, repairs, unplug, shoveling off conveyors/screens, repairing conveyor problems, and grease-moving machine parts.</li> <li>Perform crusher machinery setup and takedown, which includes running cables and hoses, setting up blocks, tarping, shoveling aggregate, etc.</li> <li>Willingness to perform duties outside the normal scope of work (i.e., work in poor weather conditions or outside normal hours).</li> </ul>
Requirements: <ul> <li>Consent to authorization of a pre-employment work screen, Motor Vehicle Record request, and drug test.</li> <li>MSHA certification preferred.</li> <li>Basic maintenance skills.</li> <li>Lift heavy objects, tear down, maintain, repair, and clean equipment.</li> <li>Equipment operation experience.</li> <li>Understand instructions in both written and verbal forms.</li> <li>Dependability and reliability by showing up to scheduled shifts on time and being prepared for work.</li> <li>A positive attitude is critical to ensure productive working relationships with co-workers and management.</li> <li>Continuous exposure to weather elements including heat, cold, noise, dusty conditions, and working outdoors.</li> <li>Overnight travel is not standard but may be required as site locations move.</li> </ul> <br /> <br /><br />Physical Requirements<br /> <ul> <li>Ability to reach below/at/above shoulders.</li> <li>Pushing/Pulling/Twisting/Bending.</li> <li>Sitting/Standing/Balancing.</li> <li>Operate hand and foot controls.</li> <li>Simple/Firm grasping/Pinching.</li> <li>Ability to lift/lower/carry over 50 pounds.</li> <li>Squatting/Stooping/Crouching/Kneeling/Crawling.</li> </ul>
