Must be a recognized industry expert in the field of lean operating systems or other continuous improvement change efforts such as Six Sigma. Responsible for creating and maintaining an effective strategic level implementation plan so the operating systems (OS) methods, tools and practices are effectively used by the organization. Continuously scans for external best practices and is recognized as one of the company's industry contacts. Span of control =0; this is an individual contributor job.
Responsibilities: <ul> <li>Provides support for the organization during project selection, scoping, and delivery to ensure effective application of Lean Six Sigma tools and alignment with business goals and strategy</li> <li>Ensures two-way communication throughout the organization for the continuous improvement process. This includes keeping the continuous improvement (CI) champions, sponsors, process owners, management, and project owners informed of the project status.</li> <li>Proactively identify gaps in the organization's performance and develop and execute strategic continuous improvement solutions to drive bottom line results. -Scans the industry for best practices of improvement tools and methods, proposes to Operating System Strategy Group (OSSG) Governance team, and implements them as appropriate.</li> <li>Provides support for the organization's project portfolio through guidance, advice, and prioritization of projects.</li> <li>Responsible for leading and managing the dynamics of high-impact cross-functional projects and business-wide improvement initiatives.</li> <li>Conducts OS (Lean/Six Sigma) training, identify Business Unit training candidate pool, and pro-vides input on appropriate OS (Lean/Six Sigma) capacity</li> <li>Train and/or coach all levels from senior executives to front line employees; which includes other CI personnel, in a one-on-one and/or group environment, on CI tools, principles, projects, and activities.</li> <li>Utilizes OS principles, methods and tools to design, implement, improve, monitor, and align the tools into the way work is performed.</li> <li>Identify, suggest, and implement best practices to facilitate effective solutions and methods that will improve processes in all areas of the business</li> </ul>
Requirements: <ul> <li>Minimum: Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in business, science, or a related discipline, and 8-plus years of experience in implementing change initiatives, inclusive of 5-plus years of supervisory, lead worker or project management experience.</li> <li>Must have implementation experience in Lean, Six Sigma, or other performance operating systems; a mastery of process variability reduction (Six Sigma) and waste reduction (Lean) principles, and; presented training at all levels &amp; phases of projects <br /> Preferred: Master&rsquo;s degree in a job-relevant discipline; Master black belt or Six Sigma Black belt</li> <li>Must be a strong facilitator, with the ability to influence, negotiate and resolve issues to reach consensus and common goals</li> <li>Exercises judgment in coaching/mentoring black belt candidates and other CI personnel in the performance of their projects</li> <li>Must have experience using a coaching and mentoring model with all levels of leadership with multiple business units and clientele.</li> <li>Mastery of basic Lean Six Sigma tool set and a track record of use of sophisticated CI tools.</li> <li>Understanding of organization and business knowledge that includes structure, enterprise and business unit strategy</li> <li>Ability to work independently and drive aggressive project timelines.</li> <li>Able to convey project impacts in terms of their financial and budget impact Incumbents may engage in all or some combination of the activities and accountabilities, and utilize varying combinations of the competencies cited in this description, depending on the organization &amp; role to which they&rsquo;re assigned.</li> </ul> <p>DTE Energy is an equal opportunity employer and considers all qualified applicants without regard to race, color, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, age, religion, disability, national origin, citizenship, height, weight, genetic information, marital status, pregnancy, protected veteran status or any other status protected by law.</p>
