Make decisions on engineering problems and methods and represents the department to resolve important questions. Requires the use of advanced techniques and the modification and extension of theories, precepts, and practices of own field and related sciences or disciplines, including practical field experience. Consults supervisor or principal engineer concerning unusual problems and developments.
Responsibilities: <ul> <li>&nbsp;Applies company standards and practices to all design work</li> <li>&nbsp;Develop system-operating parameters for complex systems to meet company and customer needs</li> <li>&nbsp;Establishes and reviews test procedures and assesses new technology, material and equipment</li> <li>&nbsp;Frame engineering/operational problems and propose solutions</li> <li>&nbsp;Monitor and coordinate engineering related activities as related to field construction projects</li> <li>&nbsp;Monitor system performance and prepare long and short-term facility plans including costs</li> <li>&nbsp;Must be able to make sound engineering decisions under limited time constraints</li> <li>&nbsp;Prepare complex written procedures to facilitate construction, maintenance, and operation of the transmission systems</li> <li>&nbsp;Provide complex analysis, design, an specification and cost estimates for gas&nbsp;transmission systems</li> <li>&nbsp;Provides technical support to field as needed</li> <li>&nbsp;Contribute to the development of the budget and containment of project costs</li> <li>&nbsp;Mentor Associate and Staff Level Engineers</li> </ul>
Requirements: <ul> <li>&nbsp;Bachelor's degree in Engineering.</li> <li>&nbsp;Seven plus years of job-related experience.</li> <li>&nbsp;Computer Skills: Proficiency in computer applications applicable to specific work field/discipline</li> <li>&nbsp;Must have a valid driver&rsquo;s license, provide a suitable automobile for use on Company business, and meet Company driving standards.</li> <li>&nbsp;Professional Registration is desired.</li> <li>&nbsp;Ability to interpret drawings/schematics and other design documents.</li> <li>&nbsp;Communicate effectively both orally and in writing with people at all levels both within and outside the company.</li> <li>&nbsp;Effective in self-management of time with a demonstrated personal commitment to work.</li> <li>&nbsp;Knowledge of Gas compression, processing, regulating, pressure control,&nbsp;measurement equipment, transmission piping systems, design, &nbsp;installation and testing standards and procedures, MPSC Michigan Gas Safety Code, company standards, and company job procedures.</li> <li>&nbsp;Practice the corporate core values of Integrity, Respect, Learning, Business Success and Customer Service.</li> <li>&nbsp;Mechanical and Electrical Engineer Degree preferred.</li> </ul> <br />DTE Energy is an equal opportunity employer and considers all qualified applicants without regard to race, color, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, age, religion, disability, national origin, citizenship, height, weight, genetic information, marital status, pregnancy, protected veteran status or any other status protected by law.
