Overview: <p>Weight &amp; Inspection Supervisor position reviews freight on a daily basis to ensure correct classifications and weights have been given to the customer.&nbsp;</p> <p>This position works mostly from the office but occasionally works out on the dock, reviewing scanning images and weight certificates from the previous evening shipments, verifying weight and classifications are in accordance with the National Motor Freight Classification (NMFC). When discrepancies are found, update the entry with the accurate information is entered into the computer system and a certificate is assigned to recover the revenue that is due to Dependable for the shipment.</p> <p>In this fast-paced environment, emails must be checked and followed up on a regular basis.</p>
Responsibilities: <p>Daily review of scans and reweigh certificates from the previous evening.&nbsp;</p> <p>Verification and application of correct NMFC classes and freight charges (including NMFC &nbsp;Rules &amp; packaging.)</p> <p>Conduct inspections of shipments from scanned data (document actual commodity, process pictures, document dimensions)</p> <p>Cross-reference Bill of Lading to ensure accurate information is designated by the shipper.</p> <p>Enter correct data into the LME system so accurate class, weight and dimensions are documented for revenue recovery.</p> <p>Upload pictures onto a computer system for future reference</p> <p>Regular data entry and auditing are required in daily duties. Create inspection certificates on shipments that are changed.</p> <p>Perform other duties as required/requested</p> <p>Monitor emails throughout the day and follow up with customers or employees as needed</p> <p>Comprehends and ensures compliance with company and government regulations.</p> <p>Responsible for all correspondence (both written and verbal), related to the administration of the Weight and Research program.</p>
Requirements: <p>High School Degree or equivalent. <br /> <br />Previous experience in the trucking/logistics industry. <br /> <br />Previous rating or inspection experience is a plus.</p> <p>Previous W&amp;I experience.</p> <p>Ability to demonstrate leadership, communication, and administrative skills.<br /><br />Able to work independently and as a team member.<br /> <br />Must be able to speak clearly (Fluent in English) and engage in active listening. <br /> <br />Work efficient and effectively with computers. Knowledge using Excel and Word processing systems, file documents, and write proper and professional emails.</p>
