Our Company is looking for long-term employees that we can invest in and grow with as we pursue our mission of being the premier commercial truck dealer group.</p> <p><strong>General Job Description</strong></p> <p>This position will be responsible for driving the organization&rsquo;s mission by increasing the hiring and retention of Diesel Technicians. They must be able to successfully manage, prioritize, and understand how to achieve all staffing and retention needs of the Service Department. This position will need to understand the workplace culture and foster a deep relationship with business leaders, hiring managers, and HR Business Partners.</p> <p>The duties listed below are intended only as illustrations of the various types of work that may be performed. Responsibilities: <ul> <li>Develop and/or maintain Technician recruitment program by fostering relationships with local high schools and community colleges or other programs.</li> <li>Partner with HR, Service and Hiring Leaders to develop retention and recruitment strategies, understand the culture, position requirements, set expectations, and maintain communications throughout the talent acquisition process.</li> <li>Advice Service Departments on possible improvements to increase Diesel Technician retention.</li> <li>Continuously look to improve the recruiting and onboarding process to meet the needs of the business; maintain and support regular activity and status reports.</li> <li>Travel to company facilities and partner organizations to support the ongoing retention and recruiting efforts.</li> <li>Constantly search for new avenues to find and source new talent.</li> <li>Assist in the interviewing process as needed.</li> </ul>
Requirements: <ul> <li>5+ years of experience as a Diesel Technician or equivalent experience in the Heavy Industrial Truck Industry.</li> <li>High school graduate or equivalent.</li> <li>Proven planning and organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to handle multiple tasks.</li> <li>Self-motivated, sense of urgency, personable, and dependable.</li> <li>Willingness to learn and take on new tasks.</li> <li>Outstanding written and verbal communication; must be a clear, concise, and persuasive communicator.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Desired Job Qualifications<br /></strong></p> <ul> <li>10+ years of experience as a Diesel Technician or equivalent experience in the Heavy Industrial Truck Industry.</li> <li>Associate or Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in related field.</li> <li>Demonstrated ability to effectively partner with all levels of the organization and positively influence teams.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Mental Capability Requirements<br /></strong></p> <ul> <li><strong>Comprehension</strong>: Ability to understand opposing points of view on highly complex issues, negotiate, and integrate different viewpoints.</li> <li><strong>Organization</strong>: Ability to organize and prioritize work schedules of others on long-term basis.</li> <li><strong>Reasoning &amp; Decision Making:</strong>&nbsp;Ability to make decisions with significant impact on department&rsquo;s credibility, operations, and services.</li> <li><strong>Communication:&nbsp;</strong>Ability to formulate complex and comprehensive materials, such as legal documents, authoritative reports, official publications of major scope and impacts, and make formal presentations.</li> <li><strong>Mathematics:</strong>&nbsp;Ability to compute, analyze, and interpret complex statistical data and develop forecasts and computer models.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Physical Demands and Work Environment</strong></p> <p>The physical demands and work environment characteristics described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
