Overview: <p>With our sights focused on your success, you can expect insight to help you emerge as a leader, oversight to achieve a healthy work-life balance and foresight to forge a successful career.&nbsp;</p> <p>Actively manage personnel, activities and deadlines in support of financial close process, account reconciliations and supporting financial pronouncements and tax technical research, as applicable. Acts as company advocate and advisor in one or more substantive areas of tax law. Manages compliance with internal controls in their respective area. Manages functions and responsibilities of staff and prepares/reviews technical memoranda in support of tax technical positions taken in financial statements and statutory tax filings. Responsible for career development and coaching of personnel.</p>
Responsibilities: <ul> <li>Perform extensive tax research on complex tax issues and resolutions/recommendations for those issues</li> <li>Ensure timely completion of assigned tasks</li> <li>Serve as a resource for team members</li> <li>Mentor, lead, and train staff</li> <li>Excellent communication with client to ensure proper engagement outline</li> <li>Review both individual and corporate tax returns on various issues, such as Federal &amp; State income tax returns, Sales &amp; Use tax, etc.</li> <li>Provide a final technical review on tax returns and documents for the majority of client base</li> <li>Stay abreast of developments and changes in tax law and accounting procedures</li> <li>Direct, coordinate, schedule and exercise functional authority for planning, organizing, coordinating and interfacing with clients to ensure all deadlines are met</li> <li>Communicate and interface with clients to ensure the clients&rsquo; best interests are achieved</li> <li>Direct and support teams&rsquo; activities to achieve objectives and set budgets by providing necessary resources and creating an enjoyable work environment to ensure quality and high performance</li> <li>Facilitate the monitoring of the quality of our product and the performance of our personnel</li> <li>Assign, track and manage tasks/projects that are sent to staff/supervisors to prepare</li> <li>Take an active role in developing staff and supervisors</li> <li>Participate in practice development and various firm activities</li> <li>Continually build and nurture an internal and external network and leverage effective relationships to develop new business opportunities</li> <li>Manage and oversee real-time and monthly billing functions and collections, and monitor additions to WIP, aging and write-downs</li> <li>Facilitate and participate in &ldquo;in-house&rdquo; CPE and training activities</li> <li>Maintain public certification and adequate Continuing Professional Education units</li> </ul> Compensation for the Tax Manager will be commensurate with experience.<br />
Requirements: <ul> <li>Master&rsquo;s degree in Accounting</li> <li>CPA</li> <li>5+ years tax experience in a public accounting firm</li> <li>Excellent analytical skills</li> <li>Ability to make decisions regarding accounting and tax matters</li> <li>Ability to perform and direct multiple engagements</li> <li>Excellent communication and writing skills</li> <li>Ability to mentor, lead, and train</li> <li>Extensive knowledge of S-Corp and partnership returns</li> </ul>
