Overview: <p>Repairs, constructs, installs, troubleshoots, and maintains routine electrical systems and equipment. Cuts, threads, bends, couples, and straps conduit. Cuts wire and conduit to length. Installs, repairs, or replaces switch boxes, light bulbs, plugs, sockets, light fuses, and extension cords. Troubleshoots electrical malfunctions, inspects circuits and wiring for shielding and grounding, and tests electrical equipment for safety and efficiency. Uses blueprints, drawings, layout, or other specifications, and electrical hand tools and voltage-or-amperage measuring and recording devices. Impact of work significant to assigned area. Erroneous work practices could result in failure to achieve schedule, and potentially affect mission success. A wide and comprehensive acquaintance with, and understanding of, both general and specific aspects and the technical phases of the job and their practical application to complex problems and situations ordinarily encountered. Minimal supervision. May work without established procedures, performing a wide variety of nonstandard complex tasks using advanced techniques and requiring extensive knowledge of discipline. Supports the design/development of new or modified equipment or methods/systems for improved performance through analysis and check-out. Responsibilities: <p><strong>Essential Duties and Responsibilities</strong>:</p> <ul> <li>Receives direction from supervisor and allocates the resources needed to complete all preventive and corrective electrical maintenance tasks.</li> <li>Performs and assists with the accomplishment of regular electrical maintenance and preventative maintenance activities.</li> <li>Will be required to supervise outside contractors and coordinate with co-workers to accomplish tasks.</li> <li>Interface with other employees, contractors and other departments with whom they must work or share joint responsibilities.</li> </ul>
Requirements: <p><strong>Qualifications:</strong></p> <ul> <li>High school graduate or GED equivalent</li> <li>Colorado State Registered Electrical Apprentice</li> <li>Written and verbal</li> <li>General Electrical Maintenance</li> <li>Applicants will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified areas.</li> <li>Minimum 3 years previous experience.</li> </ul>
