The Physical Therapist has mastered basic technical, manual, and organizational physical therapy skills. There is a focus on outcomes, and care is delivered using a systematic approach. The Physical Therapist must be able to evaluate the patient&rsquo;s condition and develop an individualized plan tailored to each client based on the physician&rsquo;s orders. Help clients enhance strength, range of motion, flexibility, mechanical alignment and minimize pain or discomfort to improve function.</p> <p>The primary goal of the El Rio Health Physical Therapist is to support El Rio&rsquo;s Mission of providing comprehensive, quality health care that is affordable and accessible to all who may have healthcare needs, by successfully performing the primary essential functions.</p> </div> </div>
Responsibilities: <ul> <li>Works cooperatively with physicians and care team to develop care and treatment plan that is appropriate especially as it relates to fall risk, interventions, and home safety.</li> <li>Provides physical therapy services to patients.</li> <li>Performs a skilled evaluation through impairment testing with interpretation of the findings that relate to functional deficits.</li> <li>Assesses for muscle strength, mobility, gait, range of motion and pain and select appropriate treatment and assistive devices, instructing patient, family and/or caregivers on use of devices.</li> <li>In collaboration with the medical team, evaluates and treats musculoskeletal injuries and syndromes including but not limited to, back pain, neck pain, headaches, orthopedic injuries, osteoarthritis, tendinitis, bursitis, foot pain, hand, elbow, hip, and knee pain.</li> <li>Provided manual therapy, exercise therapy, postural training and retaining of musculoskeletal alignment and movement patterns.</li> <li>Diagnoses and manages movement dysfunction and enhance physical functional abilities.</li> <li>Reports client&rsquo;s response to treatment or changes in condition to referring provider through written documentation and/or consultation.</li> <li>Counsels patient and family regarding treatments and modalities and programs.</li> <li>Prepare clinical and progress summaries.</li> <li>Maintains acceptable standards of patient care within the clinical area.</li> <li>Demonstrates and instructs patient/caregiver on body mechanics.</li> <li>Treats clients, families, and staff with courtesy and respect.</li> <li>Adheres to HIPAA and maintain client confidentiality.</li> <li>Maintains a clean, safe, and hygienic work environment in compliance with all Policies and Procedures including but not limited to work areas, workstations, examination rooms, hand washing, infection prevention and control etc. for this position</li> <li>Demonstrates an understanding of and proficiency with the application of all compliance and reporting requirements respective to Joint Commission Certification (JCC) standards.</li> </ul>
Requirements: <p><strong><u>Minimum Education and Experience:</u></strong></p> <ul> <li>Master&rsquo;s Degree in physical therapy from an accredited physical therapy program.</li> <li>One (1) year of experience as a physical therapist. Community health, home health, outpatient, or acute care setting.</li> </ul> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><em>If applicable, equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered, and must be directly related to the functions and responsibilities of the job.</em></p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong><u>Required Licenses, Certifications, and Registrations:</u></strong></p> <ul> <li>National Physical Therapy Examination (NPTE) and/or state examination required by the state of Arizona.</li> <li>Current Arizona State Physical Therapy license in good standing.</li> <li>Current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) for health care providers.</li> <li>Level I fingerprint clearance card: current valid and in good standing or have applied for it within seven working days after beginning employment.</li> <li>Employees in this position are required to have reliable transportation that can meet any operational reassignments of the organization during the workday.
