Overview: <br />The business performance analyst is responsible for tracking performance against a plan, analyzing business performance and market conditions to create forecasts, and helping management make tactical and strategic decisions by providing periodic reports and insights. This includes assisting in the annual and long-term financial planning processes for the Technology Product Organization (TPO) and updating a rolling forecast based on current business trends.<br /><br /> <p><strong>WORKING CONDITIONS:</strong></p> <p>Work is performed in both office and remote settings with no unusual hazards.&nbsp;</p>
Responsibilities: <br /> <ul> <li>Produce monthly reports, which include key metrics, financial results, and variance reporting.</li> <li>Assist finance department with preparation of monthly reporting package and executive financial dashboards.</li> <li>Spearhead the annual budgeting and forecasting processes for the TPO.</li> <li>Identify opportunities for performance improvement across the organization.</li> <li>Perform&nbsp;<a href="https://corporatefinanceinstitute.com/resources/knowledge/modeling/projecting-income-statement-line-items/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">financial forecasting</a>, reporting, and operational metrics tracking for the TPO.</li> <li>Analyze financial and non-financial data and create&nbsp;<a href="https://corporatefinanceinstitute.com/resources/templates/financial-modeling/types-of-financial-models/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">financial models</a>&nbsp;for decision support.</li> <li>Report on performance and prepare for regular leadership reviews.</li> <li>Analyze past results, perform&nbsp;<a href="https://corporatefinanceinstitute.com/resources/knowledge/accounting/variance-analysis/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">variance analysis</a>, identify trends, and make recommendations for improvements.</li> <li>Work closely with the finance department to ensure accurate financial reporting.</li> <li>Provide analysis of trends and forecasts and recommend actions for optimization.</li> <li>Identify and drive process improvements, including the creation of standard and ad-hoc reports, tools, and&nbsp;<a href="https://courses.corporatefinanceinstitute.com/courses/excel-dashboard-and-data-visualization-course-online" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Excel dashboards</a>.</li> <li>Increase productivity by developing automated reporting/forecasting tools.</li> <li>Enhance and maintain critical financial and non-financial reports, processes, and analytical tools in alignment with company and departmental needs and priorities.</li> <li>Monitor accuracy of capitalization of investments in new solutions and enhancements.</li> </ul>
Requirements: <br /> <p><strong>EDUCATION:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in business administration, accounting, finance, or a related field.&nbsp;</li> <li>Master&rsquo;s degree in a related field preferred.&nbsp;</li> <li>Relevant combination of education and experience may be considered in lieu of degree.&nbsp;</li> <li>Continuous learning, as defined by the Company&rsquo;s learning philosophy, is required.&nbsp;</li> </ul> <br /> <p><strong>EXPERIENCE:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Three to five (3-5) years experience of progressive responsibility in a related environment with demonstrated technical knowledge that provides the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities required.&nbsp;</li> </ul> <br /> <p><strong>SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE/ABILITIES (SKA) REQUIRED:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Ability to work effectively in a team environment.</li> <li>Strong working knowledge of Excel and financial modeling</li> <li>Excellent analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills</li> <li>Attention to accuracy and detail required</li> <li>Excellent organizational, planning, verbal, and written communication skills.</li> <li>Ability to understand and perform financial calculations such as proportions, percentages, profit margins.</li> <li>Ability to develop and manage cost allocation methodologies.</li> <li>Ability to effectively present financial, budgetary, and/or cost information, and respond to questions as appropriate.</li> <li>Competence to analyze financial and non-financial data</li> <li>Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.&nbsp;</li> <li>Ability to effectively exchange information, in verbal or written form, by sharing ideas, reporting facts and other information, responding to questions, and employing active listening techniques.</li> <li>Ability to work independently, within a team environment, and communicate effectively with employees at all levels</li> <li>Excellent knowledge and use of existing software packages (Visio, Minitab, Power BI, Tableau, PowerPoint, Excel, Word).</li> </ul>
