Overview: <br />Are you looking for experience in developing long-term corporate growth strategies within health care? Would you like the opportunity to contribute to and formulate sustainable strategic planning practices to ensure business goals and performance targets are optimized? The Strategy and Planning internship at Emergent Holdings may be the internship for you. The intern will support the Emerging Markets Strategy &amp; Planning team in partnership with other Emerging Markets Corporate Functions such as Finance and Risk Management, as well as with dedicated Strategy leads within existing business units.&nbsp; <br /><br />The internship will focus on utilizing research and analysis to provide proactive intelligence that enables offensive vs. defensive positioning within the marketplace. Assignments will include connecting short and long-term strategic agendas with financial outcomes and developing strategic points-of-view and recommendations based on market research.<br /><br /><br /> <p><strong>WORKING CONDITIONS:</strong></p> <p>Work is performed in an office setting with no unusual hazards.&nbsp;</p>
Responsibilities: <br /> <ul> <li>Analyze data to determine key business issues and develop appropriate action plans from multidisciplinary perspectives</li> <li>Prepare and deliver presentation(s) on assigned opportunity assessments</li> <li>Contribute to Strategic and Capital Planning process to prepare for 2022</li> <li>Serve as internal consultant or strategic evaluator of business initiatives and business solutions, such as new product or market entry; strategic partnerships; joint ventures; or acquisitions</li> <li>Participate in identifying and resolving issues of strategic importance to the organization</li> <li>Show strong appetite for continuous learning</li> <li>Show punctuality, professionalism, and a positive attitude when completing assignments.</li> <li>Manage multiple deadlines.</li> <li>Maintains confidentiality of parent and company information.</li> </ul>
Requirements: <br /> <p><strong>EDUCATION:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, accounting, or related field required.</li> <li>Completed or working toward completion of MBA, MPH, MHSA, or related graduate degree is required.<br />&nbsp;</li> </ul> <p><strong>EXPERIENCE:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Work experience in strategic planning, market analysis &amp; research, or consulting preferred.</li> <li>Experience in the health care industry is highly preferred. &nbsp;<em>&nbsp;</em></li> </ul> <br /> <p><strong>SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE/ABILITIES (SKA) REQUIRED:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Excellent oral and written communication skills.</li> <li>Excellent working knowledge of computers and MS Office</li> <li>Ability to organize, analyze and interpret financial and management data and identify potential issues and/or opportunities, and conduct and interpret quantitative/qualitative analysis.</li> <li>Strong conceptual understanding of strategic planning processes including development of goals and initiatives and work plan development.</li> <li>Executive-level presentation development skills, including storyboarding, development, and delivery of key messages and concepts.</li> <li>Ability to thrive in a startup environment, including the ability to develop new processes, balance competing priorities, and function at a fast pace.</li> <li>Ability to manage multiple priorities, establish workflows, and meet necessary deadlines.</li> <li>Ability to perform assignments at locations outside of the office.</li> </ul> <p>&nbsp;</p>
