Overview: <br />The Sr. Communications Specialist-Senior Health Services (SHS) is responsible for supporting the development, promotion, and growth of Senior Health Services internal communications. This critical role achieves success by executing executive and employee communications and working collaboratively to support SHS strategic internal initiatives with related communication delivery (e.g. talking points, articles, presentations, publications, memo announcements, etc.). This position is responsible for developing key messages and strategic communications for distribution throughout the enterprise in coordination with departments across SHS and beyond. Communication tracking and productive interactions with executive management are key goals of the position.<br /><br /> <p><strong>WORKING CONDITIONS:</strong></p> <p>Work is performed in an office setting with no unusual hazards. Travel is required (Approximately 25%).</p>
Responsibilities: <br /> <ul> <li>Writes and/or edits content for multiple communication channels serving all employees and management teams, including but not limited to the weekly newsletter, quarterly reports, Intranet, town halls, emails, presentations, leadership and all-division meetings and special events, printed materials, etc., as assigned by the Manager, Corporate Communications - SHS.</li> <li>Synthesizes content from key stakeholders, developing key messages, writing, and copyediting, and managing the production and distribution process for all internal communications channels, which supports the effectiveness and consistency of communications supporting the mission and organizational goals.</li> <li>Develops internal communication projects, programs, and campaigns; implements plans and evaluates results.</li> <li>Lead development and execution of division communication initiatives</li> <li>Coordinate executive leadership communications and events</li> <li>Recommend and update policies and procedures to improve performance</li> <li>Enhance workflow and cross-departmental engagements</li> <li><a target="_blank">Serve as consultative subject matter expert for internal stakeholders and communications representative on various project teams</a></li> <li>Maintain detailed records on communications campaigns</li> <li><a target="_blank">Act as a member &ndash; and at times, key resource &ndash; for internal change management efforts</a></li> <li>Work with other communications teams to gather meaningful communications metrics on a monthly basis</li> <li>Draft business requirements for upcoming communications work</li> <li>Ensure brand consistency, including development and continued ownership of brand standards and guidelines</li> <li>Ensure the reliability and validity of information disseminated</li> <li>Other special projects as assigned</li> </ul>
Requirements: <br /> <p><strong>EDUCATION:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Bachelor&rsquo;s Degree in Journalism, English, Public Relations, Marketing, Communications, or a related field.&nbsp;</li> <li>Relevant combination of education and experience may be considered in lieu of degree.</li> <li>Combinations of relevant education certifications, and experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.</li> </ul> <br /> <p><strong>EXPERIENCE:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Minimum five years of communications or marketing experience which provides the necessary skills, knowledge, and abilities</li> <li>Experience with design and Adobe Creative Suite preferred</li> <li>Knowledge of health insurance industry and/or managed health care field preferred</li> </ul> <br /> <p><strong>SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE/ABILITIES (SKA) REQUIRED:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Demonstrated excellence in written, verbal and analytical skills through presentation of persuasive, accurate content</li> <li>Strong project- and people-management skills</li> <li>Must be able to relate easily to diverse individuals and groups, especially at the C-suite level</li> <li>Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects, assignments, and deadlines</li> <li>Excellent listener with ability to act independently and exercise good judgment/decision-making</li> <li>Possess excellent organizational skills</li> <li>Familiarity with healthcare</li> <li>Excellent written and verbal communication skills with demonstrable experience in all forms of corporate, executive, and internal communications</li> <li>Proficiency with MS Office Suite (PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, and Excel)</li> <li>Experience with Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, and Premiere)</li> <li>Ability to maintain confidentiality</li> <li>Ability to perform assignments at locations outside the office</li> <li>Keen attention to detail; experience editing with a thorough knowledge of AP Style</li> <li>Resourceful problem solver with ability to formulate and execute plans efficiently and effectively</li> <li>Flexibility as the demands of the business move quickly</li> </ul>
