Overview: <br />This job implements, supports, and monitors programs that promote diversity and inclusion within the company and will report directly to the Managing Director of Diversity &amp; Development. This role is responsible for providing enterprise-wide and business unit-specific administration for and logistical support of training and initiatives to create and foster an open and inclusive environment.&nbsp;The diversity specialist serves as the HR administrator and ombudsman for diversity issues and special business unit projects. <br /><br />Assists with consulting the organization&rsquo;s business unit leaders in developing and integrating diversity goals and strategies into all business and planning processes and practices as approved by the Managing Director of Diversity and Development. Compiles management reports in support of the organization&rsquo;s diversity business case and strategic direction.&nbsp;<br /><br /><br /> <p><strong>WORKING CONDITIONS:</strong></p> <p>Work is performed in an office setting with no unusual hazards.&nbsp;</p>
Responsibilities: <br /> <ul> <li>Assists with the development and implementation of policies and programs to attract, retain and promote a diverse workforce for the organization. Identifies, schedules, organizes, and supports in person or computer-based diversity and inclusion training courses and educational programs across the enterprise</li> <li>Communicates with HR Business Partners to ensure alignment and awareness of key business unit projects, timelines, deadlines, and other activities which may impact diversity and inclusion projects and programming.</li> <li>Serves as first point of contact from Diversity &amp; Inclusion Team for business unit leaders and individual contributors to ensure accountability and alignment with progress towards inclusion projects and engagement goals.</li> <li>Schedules and arranges any and all meeting spaces, conference rooms for all diversity and inclusion programming, educational training, events, and initiatives.</li> <li>Facilitates employee registrations and other logistical support for any and all diversity and inclusion-related programs, training, and all other internal or external inclusion event participation.</li> <li>Develop D&amp;I team, ERN, and other diversity committee joint calendar of events, training, and other programming &ndash; including working with enterprise-wide EAs to ensure the initiatives are on executive calendars and in alignment with other enterprise-wide festivities.</li> <li>Demonstrates cultural competencies and behaviors in all interactions.</li> <li>Determines the appropriateness of introducing diversity initiatives and considers the unique needs of the organization.</li> <li>Develops training schedules to educate employees and managers on how to recognize, accommodate and appreciate individual differences and how these can be bridged back to assist in meeting company business plans.</li> <li>Supports preparation of materials required to deliver educational training or other D&amp;I activities including facilitating and coordinating disbursement and collection of all registrations, monthly attendance/metric reports, training materials, and program evaluation/feedback forms, etc.</li> <li>Assists with coordination of online and in-person diversity-related training.</li> <li>Responsible for regularly monitoring and responding to inquiries in the Diversity &amp; Inclusion email inbox as well as collaborating with Employee Resource Network leaders to ensure prompt responses to all ERN email inboxes.</li> <li>Analyzes employee and volunteer opinion surveys, member satisfaction surveys, and other organizational culture audits, and prepares reports for senior management to inform decision making.</li> <li>Provides consultation, administrative, and technical support to individual contributors and leadership in the execution of organizational diversity goals, objectives, and strategies and develops/communicates plans to meet established goals.</li> <li>Reviews metrics for measuring the effectiveness of corporate diversity initiatives implemented and assists with preparation of reports to individual contributors and leadership on the value of the initiatives.</li> <li>Provides project administrative and management support as required including, creating PowerPoint presentations, Excel, third party survey and word document development, invoicing, file maintenance, travel arrangements, talent management system data entry, etc.</li> <li>Keeps current on diversity programs and developments by maintaining contact with others in the field (e.g., professional associations and educational groups, and professional development efforts).</li> <li>Participate in review and refinement of annual departmental budget.</li> <li>Responsibility for balancing workload to optimize the effectiveness of the department.</li> </ul>
Requirements: <br /> <p><strong>EDUCATION:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in human resource management, organizational development, business administration, or a related field.&nbsp;</li> <li>One to three years of related experience, such as project administration, preparation, and implementation of educational or training materials, and/or execution of diversity initiatives.</li> <li>Continuous learning, as defined by the Company&rsquo;s learning philosophy, is required.&nbsp;</li> <li>Certification or progress toward certification is highly preferred and encouraged.</li> </ul> <p><em>&nbsp;</em></p> <p><strong>SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE/ABILITIES (SKA) REQUIRED:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Excellent communication skills.</li> <li>Knowledge of cultural and global awareness.</li> <li>Must demonstrate leadership ability and team-building skills to effectively supervise professional and non-professional staff and interact with all levels of management.</li> <li>Ability to demonstrate creativity, innovation, and efficiency in balancing short and long-term projects with competing time sensitivities.</li> <li>Ability to work with and empower others on a collaborative basis to ensure success of unit team.</li> <li>Ability to effectively exchange information, in verbal or written form, by sharing ideas, reporting facts and other information, responding to questions, and employing active listening techniques.</li> <li>Ability to effectively monitor budgetary and/or cost information, and respond to questions as appropriate.</li> <li>Ability to establish workflows, manage multiple short and long-term projects, and meet necessary deadlines.</li> </ul>
