Overview: <p><strong>This position will be based out of Blue Cross Blue Shield&nbsp;of Vermont corporate offices in Berlin, VT, with some ability to&nbsp;work remotely.</strong></p> <p>The Community Outreach Manager identifies and builds relationships with organizations, providers, and pharmacies that serve the Medicare Eligible population. The position strategizes ways to scale these opportunities to reach members/prospects and drive connections to products and services. The role organizes meetings and forums to engage the Medicare Eligible and caregiver populations to create lead generation and provide Medicare Advantage education/value proposition. The Community Outreach Manager is a community-based role aimed at developing community relationships, brand awareness, and with their marketing acumen and public relations experience to grow membership. The Community Outreach Manager has the opportunity to be the face of the company while informing and educating the community, current enrollees, and prospective enrollees on the value of Medicare Advantage individual and group solutions.</p>
Responsibilities: <ul> <li>Build, manage and maintain strong relationships with community-based and faith-based organizations, key providers/pharmacists, and associations to build trust and develop growth opportunities</li> <li>Develop and execute specific strategies to educate and engage the community, resulting in the generation of interested seniors, caregivers, companies to select our Medicare Advantage solution</li> <li>Promote strategic growth for the company by identifying and successfully capitalizing on grassroots opportunities, including end-to-end development &nbsp;</li> <li>Demonstrate understanding of our products and the value of Medicare Advantage as you facilitate marketing and growth initiatives</li> <li>Deliver compliant formal and informal events to open the door for growth, brand awareness, provider, member and community education using CMS-approved methods, materials, knowledge of the plan, and competition in the market</li> <li>Make recommendations to leadership regarding sponsorship for special projects and subsequently, manage the end-to-end process</li> <li>Organize and prioritize projects that will add the most value given objectives</li> <li>A keen eye for spending budget wisely with a goal of maximizing ROI</li> <li>Execution of strategies will involve managing event displays and materials; attending and presenting at events, which often occur outside of normal business hours and require travel within the state; and recruiting volunteers and sub-contractors to attend events.&nbsp;</li> </ul>
Requirements: <p><strong>EDUCATION OR EQUIVALENT EXPERIENCE:</strong></p> <p>Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in Management, Business Administration, Marketing, Insurance or related field or the equivalent in relevant coursework and experience. Combinations of relevant education and experience may be considered in lieu of a degree, preference given to degree.&nbsp;Continuous learning, as defined by the Company&rsquo;s learning philosophy, is required.&nbsp;&nbsp;While this position does not involve sales, a&nbsp;health and life agent insurance license or willingness to obtain one is preferred for compliance reasons.</p> <p><strong>EXPERIENCE:</strong></p> <p>Five years of experience in a related field, typically in at least two of the following areas is preferred: strategic planning, Medicare and/or Medicare Advantage health care policy, sales, analysis, or business management.&nbsp; Experience in healthcare insurance is preferred.</p> <p><strong>SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE/ABILITIES (SKA) REQUIRED:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Ability to manage relationships, especially sensitive issues and effectively problem solve.</li> <li>Ability to interact with all levels of staff and management, and effectively exchange information clearly and concisely, articulate and present ideas, report facts and other information, and respond to questions as appropriate.</li> <li>Ability to apply principles of independent logical, analytical thinking to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.</li> <li>Ability to identify client needs by using effective listening and probing techniques.</li> <li>Ability to research and understand client&rsquo;s business, identify industries trends related and understand their impact.</li> <li>Ability to determine the key client/business issues and develop appropriate action plans from multidisciplinary perspectives.</li> <li>Confident and persuasive with strong oral/written communication, interpersonal and customer service skills are essential.&nbsp;</li> <li>Critical thinking and good judgment to quickly determine and prioritize key issues.</li> <li>Passion for innovation; comfort with ambiguity, and desire to learn quickly in a dynamic environment.</li> <li>Excellent analytical skills to identify improvement needs and develop solutions.</li> <li>Proficient in MS office (Word, Excel, Outlook) &ndash; advanced skills preferred.</li> <li>Excellent organizational skills.</li> <li>Ability to maintain confidentiality.</li> <li>Ability to perform other assignments at locations outside the office.</li> <li>Ability to perform assignments in evenings and weekends.</li> <li>Valid driver&rsquo;s license and ability to transport and set-up tables, tents, and materials at events.</li> </ul> <div id="gtx-trans" style="position: absolute; left: -20px; top: 26px;">&nbsp;</div>
