Overview: <br />This position is responsible for supporting clinical and operational processes for the Medication Therapy Management (MTM) program. Responsibilities include executing MTM interventions by promoting program benefits with BCBSM Medicare Part D members. The MTM Technician will interact with BCBSM staff pharmacists, interns, pharmacy students, and Medicare Part D members.<br /><br /> <p><strong>WORKING CONDITIONS:<br /><br /></strong>Work is performed in an office setting with no unusual hazards.&nbsp;</p>
Responsibilities: <br /> <ul> <li>Monitor toll-free call center, handle incoming member calls, including member opt-outs.</li> <li>Schedule interactive Comprehensive Medication Review calls between Medicare Part D members and staff pharmacists</li> <li>Maintain call logs and spreadsheets for MTM membership.</li> <li>Monitor MTM electronic mailbox and respond appropriately</li> <li>Maintain MTM program files.</li> <li>Assist in the research, analysis, identification, and evaluation of data from assigned problems to evaluate existing and potential trends and issues.</li> <li>Assist in monitoring program initiatives, outcomes, and objectives to ensure goal attainment</li> <li>Assist in identifying resolution of challenges and issues in order to fulfill key corporate objectives. Assist in development of plans, reports, papers, and creation of other documents.</li> <li>Other duties as required.</li> </ul>
Requirements: <br /> <p><strong>EDUCATION OR EQUIVALENT EXPERIENCE:</strong></p> <ul> <li>High School Diploma or GED required. At least two (2) years of college preferred.</li> <li>Current unrestricted Michigan Pharmacy Technician License or</li> <li>Pharmacy Technician Certification (PTCB) required.</li> </ul> <br /> <p><strong>EXPERIENCE:</strong></p> <ul> <li>At least two (2) years experience in retail or hospital pharmacy preferred</li> <li>Knowledge of prescription drug names and therapeutic classes</li> <li>Experience with Medicare Part D prescription benefits is preferred</li> </ul> <br /> <p><strong>SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE/ABILITIES (SKA) REQUIRED:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Strong customer service and phone skills.</li> <li>Strong verbal and written communication skills.</li> <li>Project management skills preferred.</li> <li>High level of proficiency with Microsoft Office products.</li> <li>Ability to work independently, within a team environment, and communicate effectively with employees and clients at all levels.</li> <li>Knowledge of pharmacy claims processing is preferred.</li> <li>Understanding of formularies and utilization management edits.</li> <li>Ability to read, write and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. &nbsp;</li> </ul>
