Overview: <br />The Director, Inclusion and Diversity is responsible for&nbsp;implementing the enterprise inclusion and diversity strategy for Emerging Markets which involves integrating inclusion and diversity into the company, impacting company culture and employee experience, fostering a culture of inclusion, influencing talent acquisition practices, and building the Emerging Markets brand. This position works in close partnership with the vice president, Inclusion and Diversity, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan, and the senior vice president, Human Resources, Emerging Markets.<br /><br /> <p><strong>WORKING CONDITIONS:</strong></p> <p>Work is performed in an office setting with no unusual hazards.&nbsp;</p>
Responsibilities: <br /> <ul> <li>Assist in the development of the enterprise inclusion and diversity strategy identifying unique needs and issues for Emerging Markets.</li> <li><a target="_blank">Execute the enterprise inclusion and diversity strategy to meet the needs of the Emerging Markets companies to ensure Emerging Markets is recognized as an employer of choice and leader in fair and equitable inclusion and diversity practices; lead the EM-focused inclusion and diversity team.</a></li> <li>Work with Emerging Markets business units and executives to identify key issues, partner to develop a unique strategy and build metrics and measurable outcomes that demonstrate inclusion and diversity progress to goals.</li> <li>Oversee employee resource networks and Diversity Action Committee to ensure active engagement and participation of employees.</li> <li>Partner with Human Resources to identify opportunities and implement best practices to achieve diverse representation of workforce.</li> <li>Plan and facilitate Diversity Leadership Council meetings and other internal inclusion and diversity committees, as appropriate.</li> <li>Serve as a thought partner to the enterprise inclusion and diversity team and, in alignment with BCBSM, provide consultation and guidance to business units and leadership on matters related to inclusion and diversity; regularly partner with key departments to ensure integration of inclusion and diversity.</li> <li>Represent BCBSM/Emerging Markets at community and professional events for Inclusion and Diversity.</li> <li>Provide progress reports to executive leadership across Emerging Markets as required.</li> <li>Participate in development of annual departmental budget; monitor budget and identify budget.</li> </ul> <br />
Requirements: <br /><br /> <p><strong>EDUCATION:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in human resource management, business administration or a related field.&nbsp;</li> <li>Graduate/Master&rsquo;s degree preferred.</li> <li>Continuous learning, as defined by the Company&rsquo;s learning philosophy, is required.&nbsp;</li> <li>Diversity certification credentials such as the CDP, CDT, or CDE required.</li> <li>Certification in training and development, change management, or related field highly desired.</li> </ul> <br /> <p><a target="_blank"><strong>EXPERIENCE:</strong></a></p> <ul> <li>8&ndash;10 years experience developing, managing, and/or designing diversity programs and budget preparation/management responsibilities is required and progressive leadership experience.</li> </ul> <p><strong><br />SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE/ABILITIES (SKA) REQUIRED:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Ability to create strategic relationships and partnerships built on mutual respect, credibility, and trust.</li> <li>Knowledge of federal and state laws, statutes, and regulations related to HR practices including but limited to FLSA, OSHA, FMLA, ADA, recordkeeping, EEO, and Title VII of the Civil Rights Act.</li> <li>Ability to lead and interconnect various diversity and inclusion initiatives across jurisdictions.</li> <li>Ability to create metrics, and provide sound HR system and process knowledge, and apply project management techniques.</li> <li>Demonstrated commitment to diversity and inclusion as a key part of our culture.</li> <li>Ability to increase value by providing insight, influence, and accountability.</li> <li>Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem resolution skills with the ability to present to both large and small audiences effectively.</li> <li>Ability to effectively exchange information clearly and concisely and to present ideas, report facts and other information, and respond to questions as appropriate.</li> <li>Ability to work with and empower others on a collaborative basis to ensure success of unit team.</li> <li>Ability to effectively present budgetary and/or cost information, and respond to questions as appropriate.</li> <li>Ability to establish workflows, manages multiple projects, and meets necessary deadlines.</li> <li>Ability to influence, communicate, present before, and collaborate with employees at all levels within the organization.</li> </ul>
