Overview: <br /> <p>The innovation analyst's responsibilities&nbsp;include connecting effectively with the entrepreneurial ecosystem and the enterprise to identify and cultivate high potential innovations. The role is responsible for creating well-designed, polished PowerPoint presentations and business cases to deliver these tactical, actionable, and strategic insights. You will play a key role in the discovery of new revenue-generating opportunities in support of profitable growth for the enterprise, and your research will help identify market opportunities through strong alignment with the core value propositions of Emergent Holdings and its companies.&nbsp;</p> <p>This role will operate in close collaboration with a variety of stakeholders across the enterprise, as well as external partners. This role will help to define the focus of innovation efforts to determine the best fit for the organization. Through proactive market research, you will help Innovation stay current on late-breaking trends within the health insurance industry identifying threats, opportunities, and impending business model disruption. Push the limits of the business and our engagement with customers by thinking out of the box and challenging the business norm.<br /><br /></p> <p><strong>WORKING CONDITIONS:</strong></p> <p>Work is performed in an office setting with no unusual hazards. Regular travel is required to visit with the brands and to attend conferences or seminars. Travel volume may fluctuate depending upon the individual project or urgency of the deliverable. At a minimum, the employee can expect to be traveling at least once a quarter for no longer than a week at a time.&nbsp;&nbsp;</p>
Responsibilities: <br /> <ul> <li>Build relationships with members in the entrepreneurial ecosystem to identify and cultivate high potential innovations.</li> <li>Lead the sourcing efforts to build and maintain a pipeline of new innovation opportunities.</li> <li>Manage the progress of innovation opportunities within the company&rsquo;s internal innovation management platform.</li> <li>Perform analysis and build business cases for new opportunities to determine strategic fit for the organization.</li> <li>Develop and carry out proactive market intelligence, competitive intelligence, and emerging trend research activities based on key priorities identified by leadership.</li> <li>Design and develop research reports and take lead on identifying opportunities focused on strategic areas of interest for Emergent Holdings and its companies.</li> <li>Design and develop polished PowerPoint presentations to deliver tactical, actionable, and strategic insights.</li> <li>Design shared research frameworks for use by Innovation, Strategy, and the broader enterprise.&nbsp;</li> <li>Apply design thinking methodologies to deliver innovative solutions.</li> <li>Monitor project tracking, reporting, and analysis of projects on a weekly, monthly, and annual basis.</li> <li>Drive overall business impact through conducted research, and collaboration across the enterprise.&nbsp;</li> <li>Gradually grow the research and emerging trend analysis/portfolio and capabilities of Emergent Holdings.</li> <li>Assist in project management of opportunities within the innovation pipeline, including planning, budgeting, reporting, problem-solving, and risk management.</li> <li>Achieve key objectives of Innovation function within the Business Lab unit.</li> <li>Provide management with regular trend analysis and function reporting.&nbsp;</li> <li>Represent company in community and industry, programs, and conferences.</li> <li>Participate in developing department goals, objectives, processes, procedures, and systems.</li> <li>Serve as a member of any relevant advisory groups providing project guidance and innovation updates.</li> <li>Work with minimum supervision and exercise sufficient discretion and independent judgment.</li> <li>Maintain confidentiality of innovation research and work efforts.</li> </ul>
Requirements: <br /> <p><strong>EDUCATION OR EQUIVALENT EXPERIENCE:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Bachelor&rsquo;s Degree in healthcare, technology, insurance, business, finance, or related field required.</li> <li>Master&rsquo;s in Business Administration, Public Health, or comparable graduate business education preferred.</li> <li>Combination of relevant education and experience may be considered in lieu of a degree. Continuous learning, as defined by the Company&rsquo;s learning philosophy, is required.&nbsp;</li> </ul> <br /> <p><strong>EXPERIENCE:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Minimum five years experience including full-time graduate studies.</li> <li>Experience in evaluating and planning strategies to solve management and business problems, including researching, sourcing, developing, and evaluating business plans required. Experience in research, product management, product development, or data analysis required.</li> <li>Deep past exposure to navigating entrepreneurial ecosystems highly desirable.</li> <li>Corporate innovation, consulting, venture capital, or startup experience is highly desirable. Health insurance industry experience preferred.</li> </ul> <br /> <p><strong>SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE/ABILITIES (SKA) REQUIRED:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Demonstrated ability to provide thought leadership and high-quality research and analysis, presenting findings and recommendations to key stakeholders.</li> <li>Ability to organize, analyze and interpret financial and management data to solve business problems.</li> <li>Proficient in creating well-designed, polished PowerPoint presentations</li> <li>Experience with analyzing industry market trends and summarizing insights in a report.</li> <li>Experience with performing competitive intelligence.</li> <li>Demonstrated experience developing business, operational and strategic plans.</li> <li>Demonstrated experience in applying a design thinking methodologies to deliver innovative solutions.</li> <li>Demonstrated ability to interact with others at all levels of the organization, to build alignment and get decisions implemented.</li> <li>Superior written, oral and interpersonal communication, including strong presentation, briefing reports, and delivery skills.</li> <li>Demonstrated ability to create well-designed, polished PowerPoint presentations.</li> <li>Demonstrated ability to create financial models and perform data analysis in Microsoft Excel</li> <li>Demonstrated ability to understand business needs and conceptualize and implement processes and products that support those business strategies across multiple entities.</li> <li>Track record of successful research report creation as well as peer-reviewed research in medical, technology, insurance or a related field highly desirable.</li> <li>Demonstrated ability to evaluate the costs and benefits of market opportunities and Innovation Initiatives.</li> <li>Thorough knowledge of project management principles and practices, including planning and coordination, with the ability to complete large projects involving multiple resources.</li> <li>Demonstrated ability to comprehend the consequences of various problem situations and seek creative and innovative new solutions.</li> <li>Demonstrated ability to work both independently and as part of a team in the research, planning, development and implementation of innovation projects.</li> <li>Demonstrated ability to effectively exchange information clearly and concisely, and present ideas, report facts and other information, and respond to questions as appropriate.</li> <li>Demonstrated ability to establish rapport and maintain customer satisfaction without compromising priorities.</li> <li>Demonstrated leadership abilities.</li> <li>Ability to effectively interact with senior executive leadership, innovation team members and brand planning resources.</li> <li>Ability to effectively manage and facilitate multi-functional employee teams that may not be direct reports.</li> <li>Ability to establish workflows, manages multiple projects, and meet necessary deadlines.</li> <li>Ability to maintain confidentiality.</li> <li>Ability to perform other assignments at locations outside the office.</li> </ul>
