Overview: <br />Responsible to plan, organize, direct, control, and lead market research activities within the market insights and analytics business unit; operate within broad objectives to ensure optimum utilization of capital and manpower.<br /><br /> <p><strong>WORKING CONDITIONS:</strong></p> <p>Work is performed in an office setting with no unusual hazards. Occasional travel is required.</p>
Responsibilities: <br /> <ul> <li>Manage activities that are directly related to the development, design, and administration of methods and procedures, including surveys, to assess consumer preferences, the health care environment, and the competitive landscape.</li> <li>Interpret and predict consumer trends derived from the collection, study, and analysis of data from corporate surveys and past statistics to evaluate existing and potential product/trends/service markets.</li> <li>Know and utilize research techniques and methodologies to assess competitive threats and stakeholder needs and expectations.</li> <li>Direct the development and maintenance of systems to monitor, measure, and report performance and achievement of programs, long-term goals, and strategic initiatives that have divisional and/or corporate impact as it relates to primary and secondary research.</li> <li>Manage and monitor programs, projects, or assignments and formulate research and development proposals.</li> <li>Maintain knowledge of concepts, practices, and procedures in related field.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;</li> <li>Communicate research findings to senior management via reports and presentation materials and assist senior management in analyzing problems and implementing programs that provide solutions that relate to performing general management duties and other essential research duties and responsibilities.</li> <li>Maintain comprehensive understanding of BCBSM's products, programs, administrative policies and procedures.</li> <li>Utilize primary and secondary research and analytic techniques to assist in identifying best practices and opportunities for the corporation.</li> </ul> <p>&nbsp;</p>
Requirements: <br /> <p><strong>EDUCATION:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in Business Administration, Health Care Administration, Marketing, or a related field.&nbsp; &nbsp;</li> <li>Master&rsquo;s degree in a related field is preferred.&nbsp;</li> <li>Relevant combination of education and experience may be considered in lieu of degree.</li> <li>Valid and unrestricted driver&rsquo;s license is required.</li> </ul> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>EXPERIENCE:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Seven (7) years experience of progressive responsibility in a business environment with demonstrated technical knowledge that provides the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities required.</li> </ul> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE/ABILITIES (SKA) REQUIRED:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Previous experience with CAHPS is strongly preferred</li> <li>Experience with qualitative and quantitative research techniques</li> <li>Excellent analytical, decision making, organizational, creative problem solving, verbal and written skills are required.</li> <li>High level of proficiency in use of existing software packages (PowerPoint, Excel, Microsoft Word, etc.).</li> <li>High level of proficiency in use of data analysis software (SPSS)</li> <li>Knowledge of competitors, techniques, and methodologies required in related field.</li> <li>Ability to work independently within a team environment with multiple priorities.</li> <li>Ability to effectively interface with senior management as well as contacts outside the organization.</li> <li>Other related skills and/or abilities may be required to perform this job.</li> <li>Strong understanding of the Medicare Advantage market and Medicare consumers</li> <li>Passion for Medicare Advantage members and improving their experience</li> <li>Strong team orientation</li> <li>Ability to work in a rapidly changing environment</li> <li>Ability to understand and synthesize and articulate actionable insights from multiple data and information sources</li> <li>Driven and self-motivated to succeed</li> </ul>
