Overview: <br />This position is responsible for providing key support to the Employee and Labor Relations unit within Human Resources. This position works closely with the Director of Labor Relations and team. The Employee and Labor Relations Coordinator will provide day-to-day HR support as it relates to recruitment, employee relations, labor relations, unemployment matters, and contractual training. This position will ensure that the labor contract is implemented appropriately and that management and employee questions regarding Labor and Employee Relation issues are answered, timely and accurately while maintaining a high level of confidentiality.<br /><br /> <p><strong>WORKING CONDITIONS:</strong></p> <p>Work is performed in an office setting with no unusual hazards.&nbsp;</p>
Responsibilities: <br /> <ul> <li>Coordinates completion of all phases of the talent acquisition process following procedures and contractual requirements. These responsibilities include but are not limited to: Assisting in pre-screening applicants, coordinating the scheduling of interviews, drafting interview questions, preparing and extending offers, answering applicable questions, and dispositioning applicants accordingly.</li> <li>Supports internal temporary staffing services.</li> <li>Assists in the investigation and resolution of employee complaints; coordinate the processes of responding to the complaints.</li> <li>Manages administration and tracking process for union grievances, labor hearings, employee complaints, and arbitrations. Coordinates with leaders, payroll, and human resources regarding decisions.</li> <li>Assists with the administration and tracking of unemployment insurance function for the Company. This includes responding to claims, providing required information to vendors, and preparing necessary analysis.</li> <li>Drafts memoranda and letters for Director&rsquo;s signature. Reviews reports and documents for clarity and completeness and routes approval documents for action.</li> <li>Serves as an integral team member for all facets of compliance including contractual training, EEO reporting, door monitoring, etc. Report and track findings and make recommendations for the correction of unsatisfactory conditions or improvements.</li> <li>Supports the Employee and Labor Relations team in matters involving both BU and non-bargaining unit (NBU) employees including but limited to &ndash; data entry, analysis, and tracking; contract revisions; policy updates; intranet modifications; material preparation for presentation or termination, and project support.</li> </ul>
Requirements: <br /> <p><strong>EDUCATION OR EQUIVALENT EXPERIENCE:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in Human Resource Management, Business, Finance or related field required.</li> <li>Master&rsquo;s preferred.</li> <li>Progress towards, or completion of, PHR/SPHR and/or industry-recognized professional designation highly preferred.</li> <li>Continuous learning, as defined by the Company&rsquo;s learning philosophy, is required.&nbsp;</li> <li>Certification or progress toward certification is highly preferred and encouraged.</li> </ul> <br /> <p><strong>EXPERIENCE:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Minimum of one year experience in human resources, legal or similar high-volume administrative and process support capacity.</li> <li>Experience using concepts, practices, and procedures within talent acquisition preferred.</li> </ul> <br /> <p><strong>SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE/ABILITIES (SKA) REQUIRED:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Familiarity with talent acquisition lifecycle and associated administrative processes and documentation requirement.</li> <li>Proficiency in the use of Human Resources Information Systems and Applicant Tracking Software or demonstrated ability to quickly learn and effectively use information management software.</li> <li>Knowledge of federal and state employment laws.</li> <li>Ability to prioritize and handle multiple projects with attention to detail and follow-through.</li> <li>Excellent organization skills and ability to maintain productivity in a fast-paced environment.</li> <li>High level of professionalism and strong customer service skills.</li> <li>Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of management and a diverse range of candidates.</li> <li>Track record of working constructively and collaboratively with a team environment.</li> <li>Excellent verbal, written communication, and interpersonal skills.</li> <li>Ability to manage confidential, personal, and sensitive information appropriately.</li> <li>Ability and proficiency in the use of computers and company standard software.</li> </ul>
