Overview: <br />This role services as the IT strategic partner to all Emergent Holdings Business Partners. The role will act as the technical advisor on business strategies, identifying synergies/conflicts across business and IT strategies and initiatives, serving as the advocate for the business within IT. For all technical work involving Enterprise IT, this role is also responsible for developing the IT roadmap, managing the IT investments, and overseeing the IT governance across all funded initiatives prioritized by Emergent Holdings.<br /><br /> <p><strong>WORKING CONDITIONS:</strong></p> <p>Work is generally performed in an office setting with no unusual hazards. Minimal travel with some overnight stays.</p>
Responsibilities: <br /> <ul> <li>Provides IT support, counsel and partnerships to all Covantage and Advantasure Business Partners, and collaborates with EH Corporate Services and SHS IT partners.</li> <li>Manages, governs, and plans all investments of IT investments made in collaboration with EM PO Office.</li> <li>Directly manages an internal support team (solution architect and IT manager II) and indirectly manages the IT activity impacting Emergent Holdings across all of Enterprise IT and Advanced Analytics CoE.</li> <li>Directly impacts the strategic effectiveness and IT investment planning process across all of Emergent Holdings.</li> <li>Provides oversight, management, and governance of the technical investments funding within the EM PO Office impacting IT: business case, IT estimates, IT timely delivery, forecasts, financials, MAR controls, executive reporting on all IT metrics, and troubleshooting</li> <li>Participates in front-end planning and strategy sessions with Emergent Holdings business stakeholders.</li> <li>Develops the annual investment plan, formulation of 3-year roadmap, mapping business, and IT strategies, and tracks all funded technical initiatives.</li> <li>Identifies IT capabilities to solve business problems and coordinates/oversees the execution of IT deliverables in accordance with business requirements.</li> <li>Fulfills various Enterprise IT and Advanced Analytic deliverables and requests representing Emergent Holdings (e.g., IT goal developments, SOC, audit mandates, resource planning, etc.)</li> <li>Gain awareness and build proficiency with the Enterprise IT and Advanced Analytics strategy to guide Corporate Stakeholders on potential technical synergies that will enable their business strategies.</li> </ul> <br /> <p><strong>DIRECTION EXERCISED:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Directly leads exempt and non-exempt staff in accordance with company policies and applicable Federal and State Laws.</li> <li>Responsibilities include but are not limited to effectively interviewing, hiring, terminating, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and counseling employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems; supporting and encouraging the engagement process.</li> </ul>
Requirements: <br /> <p><strong>EDUCATION OR EQUIVALENT EXPERIENCE:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in Business, Computer Science, or related field.</li> <li>Master&rsquo;s degree preferred.</li> <li>Combinations of relevant education, certifications, and experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.&nbsp;</li> <li>Continuous learning, as defined by the Company&rsquo;s learning philosophy, is required.</li> <li>Certification or progress toward certification is highly preferred and encouraged.</li> </ul> <br /> <p><strong>EXPERIENCE:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Ten years of progressive responsibility in a technology environment with demonstrated portfolio and project governance framework experience.</li> <li>Strong business relationship experience working with business partners/clients to understand business problems and enabling their needs with technical solutions. &nbsp;</li> <li>Minimum of five years management required.</li> <li>Recent experience within the insurance, healthcare, or financial services industries highly preferred.</li> </ul> <br /> <p><strong>SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE/ABILITIES (SKA) REQUIRED:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Innovative thinker that can ideate solutions beyond capabilities that are available today.</li> <li>Broad understanding of all the business domains and brands.</li> <li>Ability to translate business goals into IT demand.</li> <li>Experience leading and delivering complex enterprise solutions and teams.</li> <li>Deep understanding of both Agile delivery and traditional project management.</li> <li>Expertise in strategic planning and roadmap development</li> <li>Leading discussions with business and technical decision makers.</li> <li>Proven domain expertise with experience building business cases and communicating client-specific value propositions and establishing yourself as a trusted advisor.</li> <li>Good business and financial awareness of the impact of service levels and any associated failures.</li> <li>Deep understanding of the IT landscape with respect to development, production support, and testing.</li> <li>Knowledge of industry-leading best practices.</li> <li>Strong communication skills including excellent written and verbal skills.</li> <li>Ability to work with and empower others on a collaborative basis.</li> <li>Ability to effectively present budgetary and/or cost information and respond to questions as appropriate.</li> </ul>
