Overview: <br /> <p>Emergent Holdings Inc Office of the Auditor General and Corporate Compliance takes a proactive approach to auditing by providing consulting services to business units through value-added reviews of systems, business processes, financial and operating controls. This position will use an integrated auditing approach to assess various entities within the enterprise.&nbsp; This approach takes a holistic view of enterprise operations including financial, operations, systems and compliance risks for the Company, its operating units, vendors and other suppliers.&nbsp;Directs and supervises auditors.</p> <p>This role will help design and implement the organization&rsquo;s internal auditing programs and controls, covering the areas of business systems and processes, financial and accounting systems, IT, investigations, contracts and business risk assessments. The position and this team will directly support the Government Sponsored Healthcare Programs of Emerging Markets including Joint Venture programs.</p> <p>This position provides a supervisory role for Information Technology auditors, financial auditors, Operational and Compliance auditors and&nbsp;assists management with general supervision in mitigating corporate risk exposures by conducting integrated audits. The position also acts as a Team Lead by mentoring and training for lower-level auditors. The position functions as a highly skilled internal control consultant responsible for providing control guidance in the area of IT governance, project management and systems development methodology for large corporate projects and programs. Responsible for performing advanced, specialized and/or managerial auditing work in multiple disciplines. Responsible for managing complex audits; performing critical project management duties in the planning, scheduling, coordinating, reviewing and reporting of the work of audit teams; and providing expertise in auditing standards and performance criteria, audit requirements, cybersecurity risks and information technology skills.<br /><br /><br /></p> <p><strong>WORKING CONDITIONS:</strong></p> <p>Work is performed in an office setting with no unusual hazards. Travel may be required.</p>
Responsibilities: <br /> <ul> <li>Perform risk assessment to identify high-risk business processes and apply relevant best practices.</li> <li>Plan audit tasks to address operational vulnerabilities and controls.</li> <li>Maintain working knowledge of information technology pre and production controls; a thorough and current understanding of audit and project management methodologies, policies, procedures and HIPAA applicable to BCBSM and subsidiaries (e.g., BCN, LifeSecure). Suggests improvements to audit methodologies, policies, and procedures to incorporate lessons learned.</li> <li>Support HITRUST consulting and certification activities</li> <li>Mentors and coaches employees. Conducts performance reviews for assigned staff. Provides guidance and advice when necessary and encourages/motivates employees in their daily efforts.</li> <li>Develop and maintain frameworks/models/criteria for assessing proposed or existing control strategies structures, or systems.</li> <li>Partner with management to improve service to customers by promoting quality and cost-effective controls and champion the improvement of the governance environment.</li> <li>Assist in the development and management of the annual assurance audit plan, getting input from all stakeholders including senior management, audit committee and operating units&rsquo; leadership.</li> <li>Lead department to reach or exceed annual goals for department deliverables (for example, audit committee reports), customer satisfaction results, and employee engagement scores.</li> <li>Assist in the development and completion of the annual audit plan.</li> <li>Maintain a thorough and current understanding of audit methodologies applicable to the Company and operating units, auditing principles and applications as derived from standards for the professional practice of internal auditing (developed Institute of Internal Auditors, the Information Systems Audit &amp; Control Association, and the Project Management Institute, etc.), risk and project management, and statistical theory for sampling.</li> <li>Maintain a thorough and current understanding of the Company&rsquo;s objectives, strategies, processes, capabilities, and the contextual dynamics affecting them.</li> <li>Provide oversight for all outside audits by regulators, external auditors and customers.</li> <li>Provide leadership and support for the Company&rsquo;s enterprise risk management program (ERM) and Model Audit rule compliance.</li> <li>Ability to assist in the overall administration and management of the department.</li> <li>Plan and supervise the day-to-day audit function to ensure that work is aligned with the goal of improving the risk management and control environment at the Company.</li> </ul> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>DIRECTION EXERCISED:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Directly supervises exempt and non-exempt staff in accordance with company policies and applicable Federal and State Laws.&nbsp;</li> <li>Responsibilities include but are not limited to effectively interviewing, hiring and training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and counseling employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems; supporting and encouraging the engagement process.</li> </ul>
Requirements: <br /> <p><strong>EDUCATION OR EQUIVALENT EXPERIENCE:&nbsp;&nbsp;</strong></p> <ul> <li>Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in accounting, finance, information systems, security or related field.&nbsp;</li> <li>Completion of an industry-recognized professional designation; i.e., CISA (certified information systems auditor), CPA (certified public auditor), CFE (certified fraud examiner) or CIA required.&nbsp;</li> <li>Completion of other professional designations preferred.&nbsp;Continuous learning, as defined by the Company&rsquo;s learning philosophy, is required.&nbsp;</li> <li>Certification or progress toward certification is highly preferred and encouraged.</li> </ul> <br /> <p><strong>EXPERIENCE: &nbsp;</strong></p> <ul> <li>With proper education credentials, seven years of relevant experience which provide the necessary skills, knowledge and required abilities.&nbsp;</li> <li>At least three years of demonstrated experience in auditing processes, advanced writing, workflow design, quality assurance standards and/or documentation.</li> <li>Experience in the insurance, health care or finance industry required.&nbsp;</li> <li>Two years leadership experience required.</li> </ul> <br /> <p><strong>SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE/ABILITIES (SKA) REQUIRED:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Extensive knowledge of internal controls and audit techniques.</li> <li>Knowledge of computer-assisted audit techniques (CAATs) to support audit projects.</li> <li>Knowledge of audit command language (ACL).</li> <li>Knowledge of automated work papers (example TeamMate).</li> <li>Considerable knowledge of applicable laws, rules and regulations governing audit activity.</li> <li>Ability to effectively analyze factors concerning risk and liability.
